Well done Ed. Looks like you are having a great time. Your Atlantic video has done very well. A great advert for the class, with loads of people recently joining the class facebook group!

Great videos. I have a 1976 Dufour 35 in Guatemala. Question for you, I’m thinking about lowering my solar panels from overhead to the rails like yours. What size panels are you using, do they ever get in the way, and are you pleased with the output at that level? Thank you 🙏

Hi! I went for the “butterfly wings” simply because budget and time didn’t permit a stainless arch. The panels are Renogy 100W each on a stainless rod, the output is great and routinely hits 80-100W in peak sun (Victron MPPT). But tbh if you have an arch I would keep it, simply for the options of sunshade in the Caribbean, hanging fruit nets/fishing rods etc and keeping the side decks clear. Hope this helps!

Thank you. @@edbeardsailing I have a full bimini for shade. It just looks aesthetically crowded back there. Fair winds - kzitem.info/news/bejne/05Wd3aKuroRqqoI

@@edbeardsailing Thank you for the reply. I'm definitely keeping my bimini and all that. It the extra arch on top of that looks aesthetically crowded. Who knows what I'll do, but I appreciate your time. If you find yourself in Rio Dulce I'll buy you a beer. kzitem.info/news/bejne/05Wd3aKuroRqqoI

Hi Trent, I use the Hydrovane - there’s a quick overview in the Atlantic crossing video if helpful 👍

Hey Ed! Thanks for the beautiful episodes! When did you start learning to sail? Fair winds, Dries

Thanks! About 7 years ago, I was lucky to be invited to do some offshore racing, and got more and more involved. Sailing is a tricky sport to start out, so I try and pay that generosity forwards wherever I can. Fair winds!

Hi Ed, what was the name of the Nic before you changed it. I can't find Telemachus in my register. What is the build number? Could you pass this info on your next video. Like seeing a Nic 35 in the Caribbean. Argonaut of Rhu #8

Dude, your videos are excellent, and your sailing is great. I've watched a lot of sailing channels for many years, and yours is certainly up there as one of the best in my view. Keep them coming, and enjoy your Caribbean adventure. Saving up for my own similar trip, and hadn't considered the Nicholson 35. I will now...

Bequia is by far my favorite location in the Caribbean. Arrived there a year ago February and loved every moment. Dominica and Grenada are special as well. Just loved the islanders. Great work on your videos, keep it up. 🙂⛵
