Winter is a great season to grow vegetables! The weather is cool, there is always moisture in well mulched soil and the variety is tremendous. We look forward to fresh greens like spinach (palak), fenugreek (methi), lettuce, basil, parsley, celery, coriander. And also to cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage. It is also the season of peas and beans on climbers and root vegetables like radish, carrot, turnip and beetroot! And some vegetables like brinjal keep coming all season. In this video, you can walk around with the founder of Aanandaa Permaculture Farm, Manisha Lath Gupta, as she walks around harvesting all the vegetables she planted herself 2-3 months ago. The winter harvest is indeed a beautiful & nutritious harvest.
