Great video. The car show looked like a lot of fun. Glad to see Dirty John still doing well. Sounds great. The work on the trailer looks really, really good. Gonna be one stout hauler. Look forward to seeing the toolbox choice and the rest of the work on the tongue. Be safe and stay well.

Such a cool little trailer Wesley. The box is s great idea. I have one on my dump trailer and it keeps the controls, straps, battery, and motor all out of the weather. I can’t wait to see it all painted. Stay safe and enjoy your week buddy we will catch you on the next one. 👍😎✌️

I can tell you from personal experience that winch will work well as long as you don't get it hot by pulling hard without giving it a break to cool down once in a while. I have the 5500 badlands steel cable model on my trailer and have used it many times. Yesterday I loaded a John Deere 1020 with a front loader bucket and while the winch did strain to pull it up the ramps, we got it loaded by letting the winch cool down a couple times. Just pay attention to how hot the wires supplying the power to the winch get (keep in mind the stud where you attach the wire will get hot way before the wire gets hot) and take time to make sure they can cool down some when you are pulling hard.

Thanks friend, that’s some very good info! I’ll be sure to keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn’t get too hot.

If you do go with a box on the tongue. I would put on the box's lid a solar powered battery charger. I think the Battery Tender people make one.

ok Mr. wes I am gonna share my mistakes with you. First low vehicle front bumper over hang yehp I smashed the front of my sons beetle. I bought the tongue box at harbor freight for my straps and come along. works great but I couldn't put the winch in it either. problem with the box its kinda tall. I finally mounted a receiver hitch in the tongue of the trailer and bought a winch plate that goes into the receiver at tractor supply which now I can take it out of the weather and use it off the back of the truck too it worked great. now I have to hang the winch upside down so bought some rollers for the cable and mounted them down the center of the trailer. I am sure you finished the project if not think about it. also wish your daughter a fast recovery. take care god bless and I cant wait to see what u got next

U need a box between the floor rails, where ur tires go, at the front level with them for spare and jack ect... Then something si.ilar to a trailor tool box, like alot of people got thier winches in,

I put mine on a receiver mount so I can unpin it and put it on the trailer in a truck tool box or, the back of the truck. I bought the bracket on E-bay. it's a 13,000lbs. but same idea.

Those were the cheapest slot mags they sold in the very early 70s they sold them at wollco which was owned buy wollworth dept store thats back when you could buy the bottom line cat mini bike for $99.00 they were super lite and would run 40 to 45 mph with someone 110lbs riding it. A set of those rims were about $120.00 with lug nuts

John Milner drove a yellow 32 coupe in the movie American graffiti, when Bob decided to paint his 30 coupe yellow I said it reminded me of a ruff version of John’s coupe so we called it dirty John lol.
