On this episode of GeoSeries, Er. Pradeep Gyawali shares his knowledge and experience of working in the land use zoning of a local unit in Nepal.
Er. Pradeep Gyawali is a well-motivated, dedicated, and hardworking GIS/RS analyst with expertise in geospatial data analysis, remote sensing, and spatial modeling. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Geomatics Engineering from Kathmandu University. Currently, he is pursuing a Master's Degree in Geoinformatics at Nepal Open University.
Er. Gyawali has gained extensive experience working in all three levels of government - Federal, Provincial, and Local. Currently, he is serving as a Survey Officer and Office Chief in Survey Office Darchula, Nepal, since the previous year. Prior to that, he held the position of Survey Officer (Head of the Land Management and Survey Division) in Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City in Tulsipur, Dang, Nepal, for three years. Additionally, he worked as a GIS Consultant for the Urban Development Planning Project under the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers, Lumbini Province, for one year. Furthermore, he worked as a GIS/RS Analyst at NAXA Pvt. Ltd. in Baluwatar, Kathmandu.
Er. Gyawali has made significant contributions to the field of GIS/RS and has published more than 8 international papers in esteemed journals. He has focused his work on land-use zoning at local government levels and has achieved a remarkable milestone by completing the land-use zoning digital map for Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City, making it the first municipality to achieve this feat.
