Welcome to 3 weeks of my life in Mokpo! Mostly only vlogged the eventful stuff. Spent a lot of time outdoors trying to enjoy the lovely weather before the fine dust gets bad (it was terrible today) and it gets so cold that I need to start hibernating inside. Thank you to everyone that listened to me freak out about the unwelcome guest in my bathroom. xD
I’ve been struggling (again) with teaching lately, but there have been a few classes that have gone really well. All the classes react to my lessons pretty differently, but I did a lesson on travel safety in the USA and in one class where most of the students usually sleep, almost all of them were awake and participating! The mood was so good. I also did a class on English abbreviations/acronyms where I decided to scrap the last half in the middle of the lesson and wing it by asking the students to teach me Korean abbreviations/acronyms on the board instead of on the worksheet and it went SO WELL! I was so surprised. Got a lot of participation from students that usually don’t pay attention. Too bad it was my 14th class and last time teaching that lesson. xD I wonder if the same strategy would have gone well with other classes too. Another class was also soooo into the acronym guessing game - it was awesome!
Student: Teacher, what does a house wear?
Me: What?
Student: A-ddress!
Me: 😂😂😂
I brought my passport to show the students during a lesson about traveling.
Student: sees my passport photo
Student: Very young! looks at me …and still very young!
Me: 😂😂 Nice save.
