In this Episode we are going to show you what it looks like when a City of Toronto Surveyor marked the spot where we can finally start laying down the foundation. This process is really a tedious process because we have to wait for the Surveyor to tell us where to place our footings and concrete forms.
A slight mistake or ignoring this process can cost thousand of dollars to correct if not significantly delayed the project. Because once you set and identify the bedrock of the foundation you can no longer dig further or backfill it as it will cost the soil to become loose and that is something you don't want to do as a builder. When the soil is loose eventually the house will shift and will cause cracks in the wall foundation in the future.
There was also a certain height or depth that was approved for us in the drawing that we cannot make a mistake on otherwise it will not pass the next phase of inspection.
