Chatham near Port Blair is the same place where first batch of political prisoners were brought from mainland to the Andaman. This place is historically important because of several reasons like Japanese also made this base as it was an important strategic location.
Japanese had taken over control of Chatham during the world war 2 period and that is when Allied forces threw Bomb at Chatham.
This bomb pit can be visited inside the chatham saw mill.

Day - 1
We started our day in the morning by Visiting Joggers Park, Andaman.
Breakfast at Megapode Resort - After spending some time in Joggers Park then we returned and had our Breakfast at Megapode Resort ( govt. Property )
Tariff - Rs 5000+ taxes for double occupancy. This is a government-run accommodation. Over all the property is good and big in size.

Chatham - After a 3 km of travel from our hotel we reached Chatham.
Chatham Saw Mill - After this, we visited Chatham Saw Mill. It’s the largest and the oldest Mill in Asia. It was set up in 1883 with the purpose of meeting the local requirements of saw and timber for the construction works. It was Owned by the state government.
Ticket - Rs 20 per person
Timings - 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Chatham Saw Mill Museum - There, we also noticed a Forest Museum. Forest Museum is located with the Chatham Saw Mill. It displays many kinds of wooden artefacts and handcrafts.

Day - 2
We started our day early in the morning to go to Baratang Island.

Jirkatang - After 50 km of Travel we reached at Jirkatang check post. From here the very first convoy of the day (6:00 am) goes to Baratang.
Limestone caves - Then we visited Limestone Caves.
Mud Volcano - After visiting limestone caves, we headed to see Mud Volcano. We hired a taxi and travelled 10 km from Baratang.
Taxi Charge - Rs 1500
Snacks at Jirkatang - after returning from Baratang we had snacks at Jirkatang.

Wandoor Beach - Then we travelled around 50 kms to reach at Wandoor Beach. The beautiful Wandoor beach is situated at Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. It's known for its scenic beauty & it’s very popular among tourists.
Dinner at Hotel Vedant - On the way to Port Blair we had our early dinner at Hotel Vedant’s, Sai restaurant.
Chilli Paneer - Rs 210
Veg Fried Rice - Rs 195
After this, we ended our day.
