Hey James, I appreciate it! At heart, I love flies that have tons of action and movement. This fly isn't what I would classify as a fly full of action. You can get some subtle bobs out of it, but the real beauty of it is the profile. It keeps its profile so well. So, for those species that trigger on profile or when you have moving current, I have been shocked at how well this fly performs. I also like having the hook ride up for many different bass species since I find that I get really good penetration through the upper lip. Here's a link to the site with multiple templates. Thanks again!

I would have to watch you tie this fly to do it the first time. You have a very complicated recipe. I am going to tie one of these in the coming days. All the best and thanks for sharing. Sean

Hey Rick, thanks for the kinds words! This fly has been incredible for me, especially if there is current or wind of any sort. Good luck, and let me know how it does for you. Feel free to contact me by email from the site at any time. Thanks again!

Thanks Philippe. If it's a bit too heavy for mangroves just leave off the weighted eyes for sure. Hope fishing's good!

Hello sir, id like to ask, i have an EP fly that has a tail on the end,how did they do that?
@toflyfish

Hi Helios. I would have to see the fly first, but using mono with some EP fibers is common. You could also craft a tail using only EP fibers. I would use a bodkin and some acrylic/silicone on the piece that extends from the hook if I wanted to add a tail. Shoot me an email from the site if you need more help. Thanks!

So much more complicated than it needs to be. Start sparse and long, gradually increase thickness and decrease length. Go 360 degrees from the start. Done.

Hey FM, I like this fly thick. Most people go sparse, but for many of the species I chase, the fly loses shape after ten mean fish have abused it, or it's sat around and dried after a day's fishing. These flies will literally last for many seasons if tied like this. I also fish them in rivers with current, so they need to hold shape more on the swing. In the end, you have to pick a way to tie them. I've improved and modified many patterns over the years, so thanks for chiming in.

Glue each spot or else that fly will last one or two fish.

Thanks for the comment Marc. That would make it extremely durable, but the fly is already nearly bulletproof. I don't really use EP flies on toothy fish, but I've caught dozens of the best fighting freshwater fish I know pound for pound, hybrid striped bass up to 13 lbs., on one fly with zero issues. Not that hard to add a little glue, which is probably a good idea, but this fly will catch 50 fish without any problem. Hope fishing's good for you!

@@toflyfish I am jaded because I catch blue fish at times. I use wire to tie on barbell eyes even.

@@MarcTelesha Definitely a different animal, but it's good to get someone's perspective who often goes after fish that are murderous on flies. Thanks for the comment!
