That's cool. Good to see Mission back in action, I hope they do well. I have their "Etch Mate" PE bender, great tool.

Thanks for the deep dive into this brand. I just received one of their flyers in the 'Ghost of the Red Baron' kit. I had never heard of this brand before. I needed more info before deciding to purchase any.--Cindi

Personally I don't care where a paint is produced. Does it perform? That's the important thing. I've spent the first few weeks of my retirement playing with MMP paints and it's a great product. Jon at MMP was trying to get the versatility of a lacquer but in a "safe" acrylic format and he's done exactly that. I've tried it thru a large capacity fan spray, the Gunze PS290 on 1/35 armour, a cheap Chinese clone, then thru a Badger Krome, H&S Infinity and recently Gunze's PS-770. All the time with the same mix, 10 parts paint, 2 parts thinner, 2 parts additive. No matter how you spray it, it comes out smooth, a great surface just like Mr Color lacquer. Absolutely no vices, no tip drying, no spluttering, nothing bad at all. With the fine line brushes I got ultra fine lines first time, every time, consistently with no fuss or bother. and because the paint covers so well, I can guarantee that the first couple of times you use it, you'll mix up far too much paint. Bottom line is, last week I gave away a huge collection of Vallejo paints, thinners, additives, etc, to modelling friends. They aren't consistent paints, very temperamental in fact with tip drying a constant cause for concern, certainly don't have the finish that MMP does. So now I'm waiting for the ship from the US of A to get to the UK so I can get my hands on the new Luftwaffe colours.

it's good paint. maybe not quite as good as your description, but it's the best all around acrylic i've found.

Agreed, it's the best all round acrylic I've found too. Tried all the paints over a lifetime of modelling (I'm 66, been modelling since my brother bought me Airfix for my 8th birthday, do the math!), Gunze's Mr Color definitely the best paint but it's bad news for your health. MMP sprays and brushes well, it's consistent and has a superb surface finish. BTW, I've found your reviews to be informative, fun and your engineering background adds weight to your opinions. Regards, Bruce Crosby

What I forgot to say, I kept the new Vallejo Metal Color paints. Now they are pretty good, handle totally different to the Model Colour and Model Air ranges.

I was about to buy my first lot of paints - and someone mentioned Mission Models to me. Now i'm definitely going to be buying a bunch of their paints instead (even though I need to order internationally). One question: How are their metallic paints (like aluminium, dark iron etc)? How do they stack up to other brands like Alclad or Vallejo or AK?
@barpfoto

can't say as they've only just released a few metallics.

can it be a combination of issues, like the airbrush or thickness of the material? I watched Andy from Andy's hobby run it... his tests looked very good. again I'm not an expert on spraying model's.

Who knows. There's lots of variables but I will say this… one reason I try to provide super close-up views is because most KZitem videos don't do an effective job of showing you what the real texture of a paint layer looks like. :)

I had high hopes to this paint. I bought a few. After less then 3 years all dead. So much for the promise of long shelf life. Only the 2nd gen AK craprilics lasted shorter (around a year). There is a reason why people move away from these emulsion acrylics. These are undisputedly the worst paints possible. Only Vallejo can make decent ones.

I use 91% Isopropyl alcohol to clean my Badger AB after spraying Stynylrez and it works well. I am getting ready to try MMP purchased thru Mage Hobby. Hope they will consider some basic Model Railroad colors
