Here is the missing part 5 of the off-grid charging challenge with the Teslander. As we have experienced in the previous 4 episodes, the energy of a 1.2kW solar system is hardly enough to keep us charged for a few days. The range went down every day and we could not recharge to the level of the provious day.
A few months later, I now have upgraded my solar to 4kW and the situation is a totally different one. I can now generate up to 21kWh per day and this far enough for 5-6kWh I'm using to recharge the vehicle for my commute.
With the new version of the Tesla app, we can also change the charging speed remotely and I can adapt this to the solar output. Just like a Zappi, just manually. The Zappi, yeah... but how does this work with a Tesla? Anyone?
