its good that you went with the Sachs metal slave cylinder. When I replaced mine, I used what came in my kit which was a LuK dual piece slave cylinder, and after about 2 years its now leaking from where the 2 pieces joins. From what I heard and researched, the all metal one can still fail where the bearing is located just like the plastic one but can't fail where the joint is like the plastic one.

does the screw not crack when you finally tighten it for another 1/4 of a turn? why is 60 Nm not enough for such small screws? You don't tighten the wheel from the car

Hey do you know which brand would be good for my Audi A3 1.5 tfsi 150hp 2018? Automatic gearbox, i know Sachs is probably better quality but is Luk also good or not? Because price wise for my car sachs is double the price 😅 thx

Hi - thanks for putting this series together. my 2008 gti is about to have the same clutch put in it. What are you long term views on 4 months into living with it every day? I track my golf and whilst its on standard power (no ecu mapping) I might do that later, hence the better clutch now whilst the trans is going to be out. Thanks.

It’s been reliable. The quality of engagement has declined a little, and it’s not as smooth as it used to be to on a low rpm start from stop. SACHS has released a new product though, they now sell a sprung clutch disc rated for 550Nm that’s definitely worth a look! Part number 881861 999878!

I'm about 6 weeks / 3000km with the clutch now and so far so good as a daily driver. Whilst its heavy, it's quite easy to get used to. Can be a little shuddery when engaging at less than 1000rpm but not terrible. Does not tolerate engagement RPM from standstill above about 2000rpm and will very quickly get very smelly. @@saltyfish24

Hello, is this the first clutch on this vehicle? And do you possibly know which engine code this car has? Thanks
@cheapthrillsgarage

I believe this is the first clutch ever changed on this car, although it has 220,00Km. The engine code is a BWA (Australian delivered build date 09/2006)

Get a used one off an Audi S3 or Mk6 R. If you want a new one, Mamba turbo are now doing a good kit.
