One of the very BEST vlogs of Ephesus. Thanks so much for showing the proximity to Seljuk. I know when we went, our tour guide/ bus stopped to pick some guests from Seljuk but didn’t realize one could walk to Ephesus. We stayed at Kusadaşı when visiting but I see that Seljuk is worth to stay at to walk to Ephesus instead of being in a tour now that we know the place. Thanks so much for sharing the historical facts too. Always a great part of traveling besides the scenery and mingling with the wonderful people! LOVE Turkey 🇹🇷 from USA.

Ephesos (/ˈɛfəsəs/; Greek: Ἔφεσος Ephesos; Turkish: Efes) was an ancient Greek city on the coast of Ionia, three kilometres southwest of present-day Selçuk in İzmir Province, Turkey. It was built in the 10th century BC on the site of the former Arzawan capital by Attic and Ionian Greek colonists. During the Classical Greek era it was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League. The city flourished AFTER it came under the control of the Roman Republic in 129 BC.

If you hadnt visited ancient Lycian realm, I strongly advice you to go those ones for your next trip in Turkey and try to come in summer as you could also take a chance to see and go to our paradise Coastal cities, Antalya and Muğla. Tuckey? Did you forget there is an R in the name? I visited Turkey (Turkiye) for what I thought would be 3 weeks. I loved it so much, I stayed 3 months. It's hard to believe that was 34 years ago. I thought the Temple would have been more reconstructed by now. It looks the same with just that 1 piece. Thanks for the great tour and bringing back so many fond memories. I visited there about 7 times. Back then it was the equivalent of 90 cents US to see everything. $1 = 2,200 Turkish Lira then. Thanks again.

You can go to the city center of Izmir(and also lots of different points of the city) from this train station for 6.5 Turkish Liras. This public transportation system has a 140km of a rail line. It starts from Alsancak(which is near to Agora ancient city and Kemeralti bazaar) and it ends in Seljuk. It is quite cheap if you are a student in Turkey and citizens use this trains every day.

Ephesus is truly magnificent. The Turks made a lot of progress in archeology. In countries such as Italy, Greece, Morocco, Algeria, mosaics are not protected and the mosaics are damaged by rain water and bad weather conditions. The Turks, on the other hand, covered the terrace houses in Ephesus with constructions and made sections for visitors . This is amazing indeed. The whole world should thank the Turks for protecting the archaeological artifacts. Thanks for the video. Turkish history is amazing!

if u had a better image of ancient history or u had at least read the basics you would know the almost all the ruins of the cities in the coast line of minor asia is a result of the first and second greek colonization and are years back the roman empire become the main power in the east mediterranean. so like ephesus the city was not founded from the romans because already existed. it has a role hundrends of years ago in the persian wars as a rebel city state and the main reason that the great king wanted to punish the athenians and eretrians for their support to the rebel city but just like the all the cities continued to flourish during hellenistic roman and byzantine period. anyway just when u upload a video where everyone can watch it you can be more careful in basic things. anyway good job though.
