You should have put rollers in place of the square pucks, Hunterworks sells them and you can also get them on Ebay that is where I got mine.

@@JohnFrancoNH the square pucks will destroyed your secondary and the rollers will not and they work smoothly I will look up some videos for you. kzitem.info/news/bejne/koaLy52Zs2V6lJg kzitem.info/news/bejne/o3iGp3ifbJ9hn44 The Hunterworks video shows the is talking about a RZR but the rollers are the same for the Sportsman XP 1000 I have them and put them in has soon has I got home from the dealership.

Love your videos but what’s with the hand signals? Not many hosts can get away with keeping viewer attention with hand gestures and subtitles. My friendly advice would be to keep narrating as you go. It’s worked for you so far. Keep up the videos. You are very good at explaining things and detailing them. I like how you show all the parts on your bench and then get at it.

Excellent video, thanks! I’m getting a ‘21 Sportsman XP 1000 any day now. I plan on keeping stock wheels & tires til they wear out but I’d like to replace those square pucks on the secondary with rollers. My ‘16 RZR XP1K secondary eventually wore itself out.

Great video. I need to take the primary off a 15 1k xp. Can you confirm the bolt is left hand thread , but you turned the removal turn right to pop it off. I got a knock off tool from Amazon and noticed it’s threads are right hand. Thanks for any info. Your bike looks wicked with those tires.

Yes the bolt that holds the primary on that gets torqued is lefthand

How do you get that clutch removal bolt to fit on a 17 xp1000 with arched a arms? The axle shaft is directly in the way of the bolt hole and it will not fit. Even removing the factory bolt holding in the primary you have to squeeze it past the axle shaft boot it barely comes out.

are you using the EPI tool or a knock off?

Question, I put the WE437482 clutch kit in my 2020 sportsman 850 . I didn’t like the black and silver spring , so I installed the teal spring. Much better but had a lot of noise coming from clutch. So I called EPI and they sent me out another teal spring. Installed new teal spring. And now the quad moves while in gear without any throttle being applied. Any idea of why it would do that??? Just wondering if you had any problems. Thanks
@JohnFrancoNH

After installing the teal spring on mine i had zero issues with it. If it moves in gear with out throttle it could be that something is misaligned or worn belt or bad one way bearing on primary. Make sure to put belt on in the same rotation direction as when you found it as well.

I was wondering if you noticed if EPI weights were heavy or lighter than the stock weights?
@JohnFrancoNH

They are lighter. So it can raise the engagement rpm along with the heavier primary spring. Thanks for watching!

@@JohnFrancoNH Thanks for the info and was looking at do some clutch work because I put on all 4 XTR 27x11x14 on 4 OEM 7.5x14 rear rim's and that has slowed down my Sportsman XP 1000 alot but for my ride is more like rock crawling so don't need to replace the weights because lighter weight doesn't have has much belt grip at slow speeds so will go with a heavier secondary spring than will slow the up shift .

What did your engagement RPM end up at? Are you happy with it still?
@JohnFrancoNH
2 жыл бұрын
raised it to about 2400rpm. not really liking it would prefer stock engagement rpms 1900-2000rpms. very low speed maneuvers are annoying with the higher engagement speeds.

Why 2244 and not 2268 belt.????
@JohnFrancoNH
3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the heads up. I will check & measure my belts. Interesting i looked up the Dayco web catalog and the 2268 is listed is better suited for my 2018 XP1000 Hunter. But somehow i got the 2244 which is also listed for the 17-21 XP1000 Highlifter edition. But more so for previous generation polaris 850s Seems like the belts are used in both the 850 and 1000 platforms. But the 2268 being 39.72" long /1.26" wide & the 2244 39.50" / 1.24" Might have to swap it out. I havent noticed any performance issues while plowing. The 2244 honestly hooks my 28" tires very well. No belt slip. But proper wider belt probably is a better idea.
