I own a Motorsports dealership in Connecticut for the past 27 years. I am slowly moving to all electric there's really not much to go wrong. no carburetors to gum up. ignition systems to fail. timing issues timing chain ,valves ,gas going bad in the tank ECT .I presently sell electric scooters and getting into the ebike market and they're flying out of the showroom floor. I really think this product would do well or ones like it even at a lower price, it is the future. It's where we're going and we better get used to it...

In this point you should just go with gas engine, because you take away pros of electric engine by doing that anyway.
@davidmichael7053
6 жыл бұрын
Actually, that is not dumb! A small fuel efficient generator could be used as a backup in combination with a solar panel on top to charge the batteries just in case they die before getting back to your trailer or garage. To say that you might as well go with a gas engine because you take away the benefits of the electric engine is also an ignorant comment. There are already a few manufacturers that design their electric vehicles with built-in gas generators just for that purpose.

I think you're a bit too optimistic on the charging efficiency... the power supply itself will be glad for 90-95% and the charging is also less, (the heating of the batteries is a good indicator) also, they need balancing when being charged, which is usually done by resistor shunting(more heat loss)... But overall a nice vehicle, definitely want to see more like this on the market...

Why are electric off road vehicles always so slow?
@joshuajames8967
11 жыл бұрын
Ok so i get it, electric sounds good but, what if you go riding and run out of power? I know with a gas powered vehicle you would have a spare tank of gas and dont have to wait 2 hours to ride again, with gas you fill up and go plus you'll pay more with the electricity bill with your house charging the vehicle. So you may reduce emissions even though the people that ride off road vehicles put the smallest amount of emissions in the air then automobiles alone and you will still pay more then gas.

I think that vehicle is based off of the renli (china) they come with 1500cc 4 cylinder chery car engines at 110 horsepower, so all of those comments about the razor...om maybe not. i know kaxa motors (china) also makes that vehicle. thats the problem though...who do u buy it from? who actually makes that unit? also, they come in six speed plus reverse...whos brilliant idea was it to put automatic gearboxes in side by sides...somebody's sister i'm assuming. let me reiterate though...a 1.5 renli will absolutely bury any stock razor for about 12 thousand dollars less. also, you can get a ford focus for the same money as the razor...i sure hope those american workers are making at least 75 dollars an hour to put polaris machines together.

I'm afraid that I have to agree with most of the naysayers here. This is poorly built for it's intended application. Something like this needs to be designed from the ground up, you can't just retrofit some Chinese knock-off and expect to produce a viable product.

Definitely is an issue. Electric loses power from the moment you take it off the charger. Gas is easier: You have full power until the last drop. Electric cars are not new and there is a reason why electric cars got pushed out of the market in 1910. Gas is more convenient and more powerful. Louder, stinkier, more flammable and toxic, and pricier per mile too. Once we solve the range limits with better battery technology and people get over the fact that they are quiet, electric cars will rule.
@300DUNLOP

Why does it need a 40kw motor only to acheive 40-45mph These chinese buggies are very light I get this speed and acceleration out of a 10kw motor with 100ahp lead acid batteries and no gears are needed, direct drive. Also climbs 20% hills with ease There is something very wrong with this set up a 40kw motor will drive a ful size car if you have 120 volts of battery power.
