After being a subscriber of yours since 1 year heres whats happened with my life - I really got in to mountain biking. So much that I fix bikes for living and ride every hour possible, no matter the weather. - I assembled the same Trek 4900 as you, same setup (haha), but its a 2012 model. Ive never had a stiffer, beefier bike. - I assembled a Nukeproof Mega TR 275 a month ago and yes its a dope ass bike... The conclusion ? Nothing beats the Trek. Nothing. The way that this bike feels is like nothing else in this world. I would love to see you riding your Trek in a new video doing some crazy 180s around town and bombing some hills with it.
@SethsBikeHacks

+Stilian Ivanov I'd need to agree with you that the Trek feels amazing. Every time I ride it, I see why it was my main bike for so long. I think the most similar bike they sell now is the Marlin, but with those small wheels the 4 series is just so nimble. Long live the 4 series, and I really should take another ride on it.

my main bicycle is a avigo revolution, yeah i know you've probably never heard of it, the one i own is the only one ive ever seen , so you can tell its not the greatest of bikes. the model i own is a 2013. dont laugh but i got this bike at toys r us, lmao. Believe it or not this is acually a really nice bike. it rides really smooth and suprisingly ( spelled wrong ) works perfectly on mtb trails. on the website for this bike it says its a boys mountain bike, but the way i see it its a mtb, road bike, cruiser hybrid. like a said its considered a kids bike but its no that small. its a 24 inch and fits me perfect. ive bought this bike with my own money when i was 8, it costed men a total of 120$ witch is a really good price for how nice of a bike it is. ive had this bike for 5 years now and its still good as new. recently ive gotten a bunch of upgrades for it. like leds for the wheels, a new seat. a bag, a water bottle and a holder , and a flash light that hooks on it. my friend and i take our bikes to state parks and ride the heck out of them. i have about 1,000$ right now and my friends tell me i need to get a diamond back . but the truth is this toys r us bike is the bike that was made for me and i dont want a new one. if you read this thank you for your time

if you're really happy with that bike, you should try getting a better 100mm travel fork in the front even a better coil one would make it lighter and smoother on the trails along with a pair of lighter rim wheels with disc breaks, those would make it feel accelerate much faster, and hydraulic breaks once you try them you can never go back . 26 inch forks work with 24 inch wheels no problem. but the thing is all this stuff would cost you about 3 times as much as the bike costed you, but try looking for stuff on sale if you decide to do anything.

Yo Seth! F*ckin' inspirational channel man, and gotta say love the rides. Speaking of inspiration though, your intuitiveness to do your own bike maintenance and style of riding have definitely influenced my own in the creation of my ride. Unfortunately my carbon Altitude 70 may be out of commission, (damn shame, cracked frame) I've built up the old hardtail I have into this monstrosity: ep1.pinkbike.org/p5pb14151931/p5pb14151931.jpg An arguably epic classic, the privateer is arguably an epic classic, the affordable version of Keith Bontrager's Race and Race lite series. Unfortunately, I have absolutely mangled the original purpose of this bike with some appreciated modern "upgrades" - An 04' 120 mm Fox Talas Fork redefining the older geometry - A bombproof winterized 1x8 setup with an Old Raceface Forged DH Crank-set and an XTR rear Derailleur - A Modern Raceface cockpit with a 50 mm stem and brand-new Chester stem - Sweet Fizik seat and DMR vaults off my main ride Just as an inspiration to those looking to piece together a decent bike out of nothing, this is what I got. Original bike - 100$ (Damn lucky here, but hey what are friends for?) Cranks - 15$ (LBS to the rescue) Bars - 15$ (Pinkbike special) Fork, Wheel, and Front brake - 75$ (Parts bikes are beautiful aren't they?) Grips, Seat, Pedals, Stem - ???$ (unfortunately these are off my main AM ride, while its out of commision) All in all, not exactly a budget build, but its what I had. Ended up spending about 250$ in parts to modernize the geometry, but hell this thing really rocks with what its got!

MTB's going to be more expensive though. For a decent Hard tail you're looking at $700 - $1,500. For full suspension you're looking at $2,000 - $8,000 Granted, Im sure for just riding to and from school, you can pull something off for under $400

My 520 is a hardtail with 27.5 mm wheels, it has a SRAM derrailer and it's aluminium frame, it is a size M since i'm quite tall for my age. Anyway I subscribed both from my phone and laptot to your awesome videos!!! I hope you enjoyed my description of my bikes and hope you look them up on the Internet, see you!!!!

I have about 5 bikes right now. Starting off with a Haro 27.5 Calavera Sport (stock with sealed bottom bracket), AMX Extreme 26 inch with ( rox shox, fox vanilla rear suspension, Goodyear all terrain tires and cult aftermarket seat), Mongoose Dirtech 4 link Full Suspension 26 inch with ( Pro comp Rox Shox, Fox Vanilla rear suspension, and Kenda off road tires), then the project I am working on at the moment is a mid 60s trike that I have extended out, made a pick up truck bed and functional tailgate, custom rear bumper with 1 7/8 " ball hitch and also the bumper includes d rings aka tow recovery hitches on either side, I built a 4 1/2 foot trailer with trailer hitch receiver and I can fit all three of my mountain bikes on, I'm still currently in the process of customizing the bike and trailer by fitting a light bar and aux lights to make it one of a kind also as another note I'm preparing it for a bicycle show in Dunedin,FL on May 13th. then last but not least is my trek full suspension that's in parts but I'll get to it when I can. if you would like to see any of my bikes shoot me a reply!

Currently got myself 1. Trek 820 hybrid witch is being converted for more road no disk brakes and limited suspension makes it not a great mtb 2. 90s univega 24 inch unicycle 3. 80s trek elance 400 road bike. 4. off brand longboard with shark wheels and low end kryptonite trucks 5. Orbit wheels witch are the ultimate in portability but I can't ride yet That's my squad hope to add a true mtb and to swap the unicycle for something better but college gives me limited space so gotta roll with what I got. Also sadly my road bike is with my parents back home and I only have my trek 820, unicycle and longboard with me at school

I just started MTB mid last year, and picked up a Diamondback Recoil Comp. Was good for a little while, but my interests and normal riding spots have changed, so I'll be picking up a Canyon Strive AL 4.0 Race within the next month. Excited for that!

I have wayyyy too many bikes. I ride 3 of them and the rest are projects. The 3 I ride are: a 2012 Trek Superfly AL as my mtb, a custom bmx I made using a walmart frame, and a Trek 1000c from 1988 that I use as my road bike. Its a pretty nice combo having all three main bike categories to ride.
