That is beautiful. I love my kids, but they are antithetical to the inspiration your art provides me for getting back into leather working as a hobby. Keep going, its only another 3-4 years until I get going again!

it reminds me of the WHFB Vampire Counts Blood Dragon Knights almost, really similar vibe and feel with how a friend painted his up back in the day.

Just bought this armor set, I’m adding in my own artwork, more Scottish Celtic in nature as I’ll be wearing this with a Kilt. I do like the idea of painting the center design instead of dye I may have to try that. Just one question.. Does the Spaulder pattern have a way to attach them to this armor?

I think that’s going to look really good. I like the painting idea that you used

Seperating the "bottom and top" of the cuirass along with pointier pauldrons would be all that needs to be modifed to make my battlemage armor. Lovely pattern!

I personally find combination of Tokonole and wax working best together, mostly because Tokonole makes edges really smooth but it doesn't like water. Beeswax add additional waterproofness. Thank you for your work, it's amazing

Can I ask.. say you were working on a project and you have carved in a pattern, wet formed it to the desired shape.. could you then hot water harden it afterwards or would it loose is shape?
@DarkHorseWorkshop
7 ай бұрын
I'd experiment. It'll certainly work, but hell just hot water without carving can cause some interesting distortion sometimes. I'd do a test and write temps and stuff in a book, length of time etc. until you got it down. You know what... that's a great idea for a video... leathercarving... then hardening.. hmmm... Thanks Jack. Also, join my Discord.. tons of creators that may have some ideas as well. discord.gg/sSSD674Xy2

Great video, as always, but if I were to pick a name...Fallen Valkyrie Armor? I don't know, that pattern and the Red Wings symbol in the center compared to everything else seems to be the closes thing I can think of. Cause, Succubus/Incubus/Succubi Armor let alone Hell Armor doesn't grasp it as much. It's more turn bad for the right reasons, like Horus.

All those brass rivets make my left eye twitch. I've been doing too much of that lately. Cool stuff though. I've always wanted to make armor, but I don't cosplay. So what the hell would I do with it once I did? Here's a question I've been thinking about lately... have you tried using the laser to score (or cut) the lines in your carving patterns? Seems like it could save a bunch of time.

Hi sir! I'm trying to make my own leather armor based on this video it feels amazing but I just can't get it to look a certain color, how would you paint leather if you would wanted it to look metallic yet very dark black?
@thomasdonahue180
8 ай бұрын
Hi there! I'm actually doing very similar and I've found the best way is to use metallic mini pants as a dry brush on the carving. For the shine of metal it is inadvisable to paint the entire thing so I recommend using resolene or another finish that buffs to a shine. When light hits the armor it will have a sheen like metal.

That brass is poppy. I'd recommend oxidizing it to dull them down and not be such a contrast to the 'silver(y)' color of the painting/aged look. Request: Share how you take your measurements to make the patterns!

You may know how to make armor but you don't have the slightest clue how to instruct people how to make them for their self. You assume WAY to much and do not go into nearly enough detail. Five minuets of this video could be deleted and it would not affect of what instruction on making the armor is actually here.
