This week we travel through Cape Range National Park. On the eastern side of the tip you can go to two amazing spots!
Shothole Canyon and Charles Knife. Shothole Canyon is a beautiful drive along a gravel road in between cliffs and offers a spectacular scenery the entire time! At the end of the drive you get to a little carpark and you can do a short walk up on a hill. Sadly, the main walk got closed due to rockfalls.
Charles Knife is right next to it. You have to take a windy sealed road to get to the top and just like Shothole Canyon, the views are spectacular! If you keep going up the top you end up on a gravel road that takes you to the Thomas Carter lookout. We did the hike, which took us the top of Shothole Canyon.
On the western side of Cape Range National Park you can find a lot of snorkeling spots! In this video we show you our four favourite spots and you can clearly see the differences. Watch the video to find out which one is our absolute favourite!
When around Exmouth, you can't go past Bullara Station. We absolutely love it and it's already been our second time there! There is heaps of entertainment, like damper or burger night, communal fires, dinners, walks and quite a few animals walking around. Jele loves the sheep and always makes sure they get a pet (secretly she really misses her own sheep that she raised while building the Mog and working on the farm).
All in all, we had the best time in this area and will definitely coma back AGAIN. But one thing that really bothers us, is the booking culture of National Park campgrounds. They are fairly cheap, so everyone can afford to stay there, but some people book multiple sites or simply don't show up for their booking and don't even think about cancelling their site. This leads to a fully booked campground that is not actually full...
Catch you all next Sunday again!!!!
PS: Please do some research before hitting the tracks, since they can change quickly and might get closed again!
