Hey mate it was nice meeting you out on the tracks! I was one of the guys helping clean up. Thank you for also putting in an effort to help us, it’s a shame that this is the reality of the bush we share. Glad to meet some like minded people out on the tracks!

don't waste your time carrying a clutch cable, just replace it every 6yrs or so whether it needs it or not. there's only 2 reasons they break old age and use or aftermaket levers or perches that cut the cable. replacing periodically avoids the age related failure, not using dodgt aftermarket crap eliminates the second type of failure.

My clutch lever snapped on a drop. Was riding solo on Howes trail. Luckily a guardian angel towed to top of hill, where I bump started it. Had two or three closed gates to contend with, guardian angel kept overtaking me whilst I rode slow and opened said gates. Got back to Putty Rd then had to ride home about 120km with ultra clunky clutchless gear changes and stressing about traffic lights or having to stop on an incline in traffic. Made it home with only two more bump starts. Needless to say I don’t leave home without spare levers or cable when I’m in those environments! Lance your ride home, I know how it feels mate - glad you made it I’m sure there was a few hairy moments

Such a nice video btw, I love riding my DRZ400E, nice scenery in the blue mountains and you see things others don't see on the bike 14:30 nice sediment rocks, you can see the bedding (the layers)

My clutch handle broke after a fall and I was at the bottom of a treacherous climb in the Lisdale state forest near the cox's river basicalky in the middle of nowhere..anyhow somehow I managed to start the motor( I had to remove the headlight to by pass the clutch engine safety switch) going down further turn in the bush and gun it uphill, I made it, the hardest was the bloody trafic lights on the way home, I had to run along side at each green light..😮😅

My rule of the cable is.....grease 2 years and replace the third, keep the changed one for a spare. It is usually rust that weakens them...and they are cheap for a 3 yr exchange. Garth
