Agree with you, the leash is such a poor quality. Mine crumbled after a couple years of just being stored in a closet with no use at all. The paint in mine is not "chalky" because it has not been out in the sun too much as it hangs inside a garage 99% of the time. Located in tropical, hot Santa Marta, Colombia, Caribbean Coast.

Great informative review! I would like to get a fast sit on top kayak, which would you recommend? Thanks

I'm considering a V7 for Scotland waters. Epic UK suggested a V6 so that's why I watched your review, which tells me to probably avoid the kick-up rudder on the V7. Thanks for that. Where are you based? Not UK, I think? Sounds like you might be from Suffolk originally.

I'm in Suffolk still... Good spot👍The rudder is very annoying and it drops out a lot. I would have hoped they could have fitted a better system. I now mainly paddle my Carbonology Zest as my technique and stability have got better. I've also got a Carbonology Boost X that my wife and I paddle. It's good on rough days.

@@neilboastmbe4428 I'm originally from Hollesley near Woodbridge. I used to paddle the Ore a fair bit growing up. I am new to surf skis. I mostly use a Stealth fishing kayak that is derived from a surf ski. I'll watch some of your other videos to discover the good & bad with the others

Alan Hunter is the Carbonology UK importer and a great guy. He's based in North Berwick. He has the whole range of skis and is very knowledgeable. I tried several and I've been very pleased with Carbonology and the support Alan has given.

Hi, thank you for the video. Is the V6 in this layup reasonably light?

My wife has a Carbonology Cruze and it's better and lighter to be honest. The V6 is quite heavy in this layup. The rudder assembly is heavy and annoying.

@@neilboastmbe4428 Hi Neil, can I ask you one more question please? I really like the Cruze, the only thing is that I would like to keep my feet dry when I paddle in the river in winter. Is there any way that I could plug the scupper holes and unplug them when I need drainage in the ocean? I mean besides duct tape. Thank you, Cheers

Cruze x or epic v6 ?

For me, the Cruze, as it's proved to be better build quality and the customer service in the UK (guy called Alan Hunter) is exceptionally good. The Epic has deteriorated more, despite being polished by me to try to restore it, but it's gone all chalky again. My wife's Cruze is as good as the day it arrived new, and has not been polished. Stability wise they are similar, but you sit much more 'deeper' in the bucket of the V6. Hope this helps.
