You can see the thing flex when you tap the neck around 4:19

Yeah, that worried me at first. Good job it was only the loose bit of the body.

Learned how to play on my new FT-130 Caballero back in 1973. Gigged it in college with a little Texas Transducer pickup. Finally upgraded a few years ago to a J-35. That Epiphone did pretty well by me. Gave it to a 13-year-old fellow last year to start the circle all over again. It was in better shape than that one. Thanks, Dave.

These Japanese Epi's are so under-rated and sound amazing as they age, I own the FT-145 Texan dreadnaught 1972 ' model . I believe the secret in these old Japanese acoustics are the solid laminates used and how they are glued and pieced together...Their tops, rarely warp, crack or split.. ..I love the bolt on necks and adjustable screwable saddle bridges they intonate so easy with a set up.. ... Dave your vid's are amazing and I follow you on F.B really love the play by play audio....Can't wait to hear this acoustic with Vol 2 of your video. Lager & Ale..

First chord she will learn is E, followed by A then D and G, she'll find them very useful !

I have an Epiphone acoustic coming your way in March/April. Thankfully, it only needs a set up. Great video, as always.

I got the Epiphone blues today. Not an acoustic though. I'm about to avail myself of my DWOFS Patreon benefits. But I gotta replace the bridge I the broke a saddle screw on today first.

Nice little guitar. Looking forward to the next part, after the glue dries.

I wish more people would start children with small electric guitars wherein almost everything is adjustable. An acoustic can wait for the child to learn what suits their hands, particularly their fretting hand, and the freedom to use extremely-low string tension reduces the risk of injury while enabling a focus on the music.

DAVE! nice vid man. Thank you for sharing ur work and entertaining your peeps. Do ya think there is difference in sound if the neck was dovetail and glued instead of bolted?

I bought one of those in 1976. Ft135 Cortez. I really liked the neck, but the large block inside became disconnected from the guitar.

No camera means no videos…. We can’t have that! Guess I’ll need to rejoin the group. Was a member before fb decided to make the group go away the first time. Didn’t rejoin after because of too many memes, but Dave mentioned no memes or you’re out of the band, so we’ll help Dave reach his goal.✌️

Thanks Canuck. Always learn something from your acoustic guitars. My Eastman uses 3 degree bridge pins. Should I ream them out to 5 degree. Peace Brother from Texas. From the gift giver “ I have no fuckin’ idea what I’m doing. Have a guitar". Is fish glue a good substitute for CA glue for frets? Oh, thanks for the sticker.

Early 70s MIJ Epiphone after Gibson outsourced production. Early Matsumoku. Was junk 50 years ago and didn't age well. Later matsumoku was better.

Since it is for a new beginning guitar player it should be in the best possible playing condition. If the action is too high she will have trouble learning how to play and she will loose interest quickly.
