I absolutely love the split between Meg fans and Dagan fans. Meg fans are all "she's so lovely and calm" and over the Dagan camp everyone's like "WOO FUCKIN DAGAN LETS GO"

Sounds really impressive, that finish is really lovely too. Big step up from their previous copy. Getting some big oasis and stereophonic vibes! Love it😀

I bought the Epi "Dove pro" two years ago. A fine guitar, sounds great with it's Maple back and sides. Replace the nut and saddle with bone and adjusted the neck relief is all.

Sounds amazing! Good video demonstrating as well, I find some of these videos the hosts try and over play rather than let the guitar do the talking. This one really showed what the guitar can do

I’m not an acoustic guy, I’m definitely electric guitar oriented. This looks perfect for me because I wouldn’t shell out 4K+ for the Gibson version when I’d rather get another electric custom shop guitar. Well done Epiphone and Great demo!

Might be a lot more than 4K for a Gibson J-200, in these post pandemic days. But on the positive side for electric guitarists, the nut is 1+11/16" wide on most J-200s.

Don't forget Meg, that the Gibson J-200 was the Great Late Greg Lake's favorite guitar. Also, could you do a video on the Epi J-45 inspired by Gibson please? Thank you for sharing.

Ended up getting one and loving it. Got the sunburst and it looks even cooler than the natural. Narrow neck width, but quickly got used to it. Sounds better each and every day. Great fingerpicking guitar. "Walk Don't Run" played on this puppy can make you forget the Ventures.

Is the size uncomfortable?
@don6538
2 жыл бұрын
@@douglasboyd8475 In a word, no, at least for me. While the lower bout is nearly 17" in width, the size of the waist is a little over 12", so it sits quite low on your leg when played seated. Thus the fretboard and strings are easily reachable. Basically see if any music stores have any Gibson or Epiphone J-200s and just try one out for size. You will have your answer immediately, as it applies to you. And I am of average height and fingerpick everything using my nails as picks.

All these Epiphone high end guitars have plastic bridge pins. It says ivory on the spec sheet but they are plastic. So upgrade them to Tusq, bone or ebony. Gibson's same models have Tusq bridge pins. You will see improved tone after the upgrade.

Tried one and wasn’t impressed. Looks absolutely amazing in the burst that it comes in (not sure what they call that burst) Wonder if brighter strings would bring it to life more

I use D'Addario 80/20 Bronze in 11-52 guage. You can go heavier if you want to, but I didn't find it helped this guitar. Also, the 80/20 bronze is a way better match for maple guitars compared to the typical phospor bronze.

I have the same from Sigma - AMI. It was to quiet for me, so I kicked out the piezo system and removed the thick and ugly pickguard. Now it sounds like a real Gibson.

Find you a Starshine j200 Gibson copy and compare this one with a real Gibson copy, and not an Epiphone copy. Closest to a real Gibson copy out there. They even have their own headstock design. Good tone woods and beautiful as well.

The distance across the lower bout is about 17", just shy of 1.5 feet. Applying that knowledge to some easy guesswork seems to reveal that both is the correct answer. Also notice that the jumbo waist allows the guitar to sit low enough on her leg so that she can easily pick the entire fretboard.
