I just bought a plant like this today. I came here to look for care instructions. It's good to hear that you love this plant as much as I love mine. It kinda qualifies my purchase :) The plant I got has leaves that are purple on the bottom and green, cream and pink on the top. It looks like a painting. Thank you for sharing. P.S. I hate spiders!

Love that plant. I have one and all of a sudden it started getting the brown tips. I was going to give up on it but since you said it takes a lot of water. We’ll see how it goes.

Kim Rashad yes and thank you Kim for watching. It is a water loving plant. It is a full tropical plant. It loves moisture and damp soil. Now if your trying to keep it indoors, do not water it as much.

Also, apparently it is very sensitive to the chemicals in tap water.....so I have heard it’s recommended to water it with distilled water. That resembles rain water to the plant.

Beautiful specimen. Im in the UK the weather has changed and all the leaves have curled inwards on mine. I hope it's not permanent. I've moved it to the centre of the room. Hope it will recover

hi I am in Manchester area , mine curled when in too much light in window , they did better just set back on a table or in a window with no afternoon sun , leave the curl ones on , for a while , they help to take up food for new stems , xx they are now under a table in the garden in a drip tray ,

Do you think this plant would be able to live in the bathroom with the humidity?
@greenjournalentries5719
5 жыл бұрын
Hey Ashley, so to answer your question. Yes I believe it could live in the bathroom but under these conditions. There must be a substantial amount of light in that bathroom. It does require a lot of bright light. Another thing is if you would have this in the bathroom slow down on how often you water it. With the humidity in the air will slow down the evaporation process in the soil. So it can be easy to over water it in a humid place. But it is possible to do well in those conditions.

Hi great video, do you think this plant would live in a bathroom that gets a little chilly with the air condition on
@greenjournalentries5719

Hello Maureen, So. I don't know what you mean by chilly. How cold is chilly? I will say this though. When you have the A/C on, A/C tends to dry the air out in and around the house, with this plant liking some humidity, I don't think it would fair well in a "chilly" bathroom. Another unknown is, does the bathroom have ample light? I hope this answers your question, thank you for watching the video.

Do it grow in full sun?
@greenjournalentries5719

It will not do too good in full sun. I t is a part shade plant. Full sun tends to dry out the leaves and burns the tips. If you are thinking about getting one plant it outside underneath a tree or under a shaded screen.
