I just bought mine from a local e-bike store here in Denver on Thursday. It's now Saturday morning and I'm already pushing 100 miles on it and have had it up to about 35mph. Hills nor heavy wind slows this bike down! The power curve takes a little bit of getting used to but with as much power as this bike has, it's pretty useful especially for older riders who don't want the bike to get away from them as soon as they hit the throttle. One other thing to keep in mind, photos/videos do this bike no justice. It's much larger once you see it in person, and much faster than it looks in videos!

I did not know red was discontinued. I must have gotten one of the last red Aventure ebikes as mine was ordered/shipped/rcvd/assembled last month. I have nicknamed it "Big Red". The thing is a beast. Chose it for all the things talked about in this video. My intended use is to transport my old (65), physically challenged (Two back operations), heavy body (270lbs) thru the national park trails in pursuit of my wildlife photography hobby. Have not had it in the parks yet as I am concentrating on getting back into riding shape after a 27 year hiatus. So, have only ridden it in my neighborhood, but I can definitely say I LOVE THIS BIKE! Looking forward to the park trails.

I find that in pedal assist 5 and 8th gear that at top speed trying to keep up pedaling is a bit much, almost goes faster then I can pedal...I think a different cassette with a higher gear might be in order,I don't know how often your riding at top speed but did you notice that at all??

I think it’s very close. I don’t use PAS 5 much but I see your point. May depend on your weight also and the road grade. Once you hit a hill, that may change so it may be good to have that extra power!

I would totally agree. At 31mph my motor was almost outpacing my pedal. That can be pro or con depending on how you look at it. I am not going to be peddling a top speed like this very often, so not too concerned about it. Too many great things about this bike to be bothered with this one issue.

48v 15Ah battery? My Aventure came with a SCUD Power 48v 13.9Ah (657Wh) battery. Aventon is not being truthful. I emailed them through their website two weeks ago about this change and so far they’re “ghosting me. It’s a beautiful bike but I had to pay $2k for an ebike with a smaller battery, less effective zoom brakes (check out Electric Bike Report step over vs step through reviews) and a cheaper Altus derailleur. I wish I had bought a Magicycle and saved $350. Just my 2 cents.

Nice job, I’m 76 years old and recently sold my Honda Goldwing and Segway X-2. kzitem.info/news/bejne/kYCLzo2noqWQlqQ . I’m way beyond the 40s category you mentioned, and I too just bought a Venton Aventure. But mine is a Red Step Through bike because it is very easy to mount, and considering I use a cane when walking now, it is a must to have the step through. Especially when I have a bag mounted on the rear rack. I have seen just about every review made as well as the comparison videos, and they all pretty much say that the Aventure is superior to all the other under $2,000 bikes. However, the only thing I didn’t like about the Aventure was the factory rear rack. So, I bought the Topeak Explorer Rack with the MTX DXP snap in bag. kzitem.info/news/bejne/rK6Lt2F7qWaJa6w is far superior to any of the other racks.

Boy what a “Buzz Kill” comparing this bike to a Cadillac. I’m 76 years old and I’m not ready for a Cadillac because there’re for old farts. If you don't want a garage full of e-bikes give a negative review on 1 then other companies will stop contacting you since they only want good. Of course a person who is getting freebies isn't going to risk that happening. How about only make reviews with bikes you bought to make it a legitimate review.
