Grabeeee. Im a follower of Cams since LookBook days (2010 to be exact) and now ko lang nalaman mga toh. Looking at her posts and all the travels, you wouldn't know she's a restricted child, adult even. I just knew she had strict chinoy parents but with the details tho, I can see Cams' emotions and how she's affected❤

Wow, a lighthearted discussion, while at the same level covers a realistic scenarios at how our culture & conditioning patterns when we were growing up affects us (forward unknowingly). Hence, we carry over the same kind of baggage/pattern to the present moment (due to being unconscious or not self aware) making the whole loop messy and traumatic. Keep up this interesting topics. You’re doing great at this. Thank you for being authentic and fun. 👏🥰

My favorite discussion so far. I really enjoyed this. Made me reflect about my own traumas with my family. Congratulations on this podcast, Nicole. Been listening since first episode [and have been a regular view of your YT channel as well], but never really bothered to leave a comment. But I'd like to give credit where credit is due, because I am the kind of person who if something/someone impresses me, I will let that person know. Kudos to you, and looking forward to more insightful , relevant, and fun discussions.

The problem with asian parents kasi is they do things as if it's just another task to do. The thing na "text me where you are" I used to not understand until I became an adult and my younger siblings are going through their teenage years. Pero I guess instead of being mad na they don't text you where they are, mas okay if you check-up on them genuinely. "Uy san kayo? Pasalubungan mo ko," (jokingly) I feel like when things became more of a task instead of just a casual conversation, mas easier mag respond. Love this ep! And I'm so proud of Camille kasi she parents her daughter very differently and full of love.

Now, I’m aware of the generational trauma that I experienced/am experiencing too. It really starts with self-awareness. This podcast really made me feel that I am not on a solo flight, in a good way.

OMG. SUPER RELATE. I'M CHINESE. THERE'S A LOT OF SHOUTING. SHOUTING IS CONVERSATION. I GET A MINI HEART ATTACK EVERYTIME I HEAR A SHOUT OUTSIDE. Same with Cam, my parents would have those rules. While I followed them, it felt so nakakasakal na in the long run. I can't be myself because they would judge me. Cam's calmness and self awareness is goals. Hope I can reach that.❤

Nice to see the other side of Camille. Please do more parents/family talks with her! I think she’s a best example on manoeuvring from a no boundaries parents, to making her own without disowning her family. I can tell she’s been through a lot, but admired her respect parin sa parents.

Really loved this episode! This really made me realize that there’s nothing wrong on transitioning from old ways to new ones, as an only child daughter I grew up with strict parents but slowly we all learned to accept and embrace change..they adopt and I adjust accordingly, to avoid any issues and any arguments. My parents accepts the fact that their time is different from what we have now

Grabe, I super love this episode. Aside sa same kami ng name ni Camille, I really resonated with the topic discussed. I'm single but I learned na we should be more empathetic with our parents, especially to those young ones; because what they know is what they just experienced growing up. Also, as we grow old, kasabay lang din natin sila tumatanda, navigating life and making adjustments along the way. Let's be the first generation breaking the generational trauma. It ends with us. :)
