The snow is beautiful, though. Aaron, thank you again for your editing genius. The Christmas music perfectly fit the scene..both in mood and timing. Nat Geo should hire you for their video work. These vids would work well for your 'reel'. Maybe, Dixie, you are at the border now? I absolutely can not wait for the next video. You are amazing! I see there is a High Sierra compilation video. Starting to get to my neck of the woods. Other than a terrible misrepresentation of our bacon, you've captured the north in October pretty well. Some of us like to hike year round. Winter hiking secrets: share tents, eat more, dress warm at night (not during the day so much), pick appropriate footwear, and you know that nalgene we all ditched for smartwater? Yeah, it's good again! Keep electronics, and water filter in your sleeping bag or on your person, try to leave camp at first light, you get less to work with. Expect fuel usage to go up quite a bit.

I'll admit being hooked on your PCT videos, and was eagerly awaiting this installment. Your videos never fail to be a) informative; b) entertaining; c) inspirational in ways far beyond the actual trail-related content; d) authentic and unpretentious; e) beautiful to behold; f) chatty ;-)... and a few other things I'll probably think of later. It's great how you can just talk "stream-of-consciousness-like" and come out (often) sounding so astute and even philosophically profound (at times). The sincerity of what you've been doing is the strongest force in all this. You being you, doing what you do. Post-trail depression is, however, no doubt soon to be a whopper of a topic for you, but you'll find ways to deal with it. One burning question, though: That was an AeroPress I saw briefly in an earlier PCT video of yours, right? I mean the plunger thing Perk was using for his morning coffee? Brilliant device! Have one, too, and love it. So he actually takes the extra weight in his pack in order to enjoy great coffee! Wow. So here's the question: Into what container does he press it? Does it fit over a lightweight cup of his, and does the cup withstand the pressure needed to press the water through? If there's a cup out there that fits and doesn't weigh a ton, I might be tempted to take my AeroPress on my next "ultralight" hiking trip. ;-)
@LJHowardPhoto

I have a coffee press made by GSI that exactly fits a 1 liter (1 quart) Nalgene wide-mouth bottle. Works great but you need a separate coffee cup. I bought it at MEC (Mountain Equipment Co-op) in Canada several years ago.

Best video yet. Aaron is getting better and better at this with what he includes in these clips and the music he chooses. The blasting part at the beginning was perfect. I laughed at 9:32 the way you said, "Christmas comes early". Reminds me of NH, where I live, and the reason I'm glad I live in a state where you experience 4 seasons. I could feel the cold feet (been there, done that) when walking in the first, slushy, snow of the season without winter footwear. You will forever have a flashback to how cold you were when you view this footage in the future. So beautiful, though...... I hoping at the end Aaron will make a video of the whole hike, maybe an hour or 1 1/2 hours or even two hours long wouldn't be too long ? Would love to see the whole hike in a movie type video.
