Boiled linseed is what I use on my spokes too. Next time they need it I think I'll put it on with a brush like you did, looks quicker than using a rag. I'm enjoying your project.

Yes, the brush was easy. Only one wheel took another coat. They look great.

looks good Dave. I would recommend you apply several coats and each time use a finer grit. Using linseed oil is fine I personally would have used a exterior Marine varnish. (Lust Total Boat high gloss varnish) ONE of the best. Using Actone and a rag undue what you just did and follow the instructions on the can. using a quality brush. apply 6 thin coats light sand between 400 grit paper. Using a tack cloth to take off the dust. If you would prefer to us oil , then use 400 Gritt then move on too 600 Gritt at least 8-10 coats. I WISH YOU WELL MY FRIEND LARRY

WOW!! That sounds like a lot of work. This old car will never see much rain. Two to three coats of linseed oil did a fine job. Anyway, thanks Larry. Come out and visit someday soon.
