I’ve been stitching for 43 years now. On your crocette a gogo piece, leave your tree - it’s not visible that it’s in the wrong place. Get your border stitched then place new motifs counting off the border. Keep in mind that not all mistakes are visible to the eye and not all mistakes need to be removed/repaired 😊

This is great advice, Angela. I did remove the tree but, as only I can, I put it back in one stitch off!!! So, now I can take your advice and just leave it alone! Thank you for watching and for the advice. 🪡

Love all your cross stitching and finishes. Love your snowman banner It's so cute. That temperature cross stitch, I think that would be so fun to do. Those quilt pieces you are putting together are beautiful. I love the story about Pete and I love his pictures. That quilt you're making of looking thru the window at Pete is going to be gorgeous. That cross stitch of that black lab is so sweet and precious. Hugs to you and Pete🤗🤗Take care and God Bless❤

I try to include a bit of Pete in every episode because of you and others who mention him and have been following him since he was a tiny pup. Oh no! You too?? The struggle is certainly real! Yes, I have sat outside the library uploading also. I’ve even tried fake shopping inside a Verizon store while connected to their Wi-Fi but there’s not much to look at so had to leave. Plus, I probably looked suspicious! 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you (about the beads.) They weren’t the “called-for” color but when I saw the beaded frame, I said YES! Thanks for watching and for your comment. Thank you, Gaye! I can overlook some minor mistakes in my x-stitch but find that some are hard to ignore. Needless to say, that wayward tree has been frogged and replaced since I recorded this video. It’s funny that I didn’t notice until editing that just about everything I’m working on highlights trees. They must be a comfort. 🌲 🌲🌲

Thank you for another great video, Colleen. It will be really interesting seeing how your attic windows quilt progresses. I have not bought any of the new Nashville releases yet because I have more than 20 kitted projects waiting and it is overwhelming to me. I hope that your temperature chart becomes greener (although I envy your cold weather to be honest). Take care and may all your stitches bring joy to you too.

Thank you for watching and for your nice comment! I hear you about being overwhelmed with projects you want to stitch. There are just too many wonderful designs out there and it’s so tempting. I’m also trying to be good and concentrate on only what’s in front of me - which is already overwhelming! Well, there are worse things in life, I guess, so we will just carry on!! I also can’t wait for some color changes to my temperature chart. Things are bluish green now so it’s changing slowly. Come this summer when it’s hot and muggy, I will be looking longingly at those cool blues. 💕🪡

Hi Barb! First, I owe you about 10,000 emails. Secondly, I also have fond memories of that long ago trip to London and Paris. Every year I hang that Harrod’s ornament on the tree with a smile on my face, think of the fur-lined raincoat you didn’t buy, and remember to “mind the gap” whenever I step over a crack!!! I’ve not been back to either city with Mark but took other trips with him. In our adventures all in all, my favorite trip was Charleston at “club level!” 😉 🍷🍷

Hello Colleen! Always enjoy spending time with you! I love the sweater you’re wearing and that cute banner! We are into Spring here in East Texas with the horrible pine pollen covering everything in a thick layer of yellow! Don’t even think about opening doors and windows to let in the lovely temps! Some people have already mowed their lawns, I’m holding off as long as I can as I have to pay a man to mow. I hope you soon will experience Spring, but I’m originally from New York State so I know it probably will be awhile! Take care.

Hi Carlene! Thanks for watching and, as always, your nice comment. That horrible pine pollen will hit here in another month or two. All our window screens will have to be vacuumed because of that yucky stuff! It’s definitely starting to hint at spring here although it snowed last night! Spring in NH is mud, rain and either too cold or too hot. Then comes the black flies and mosquitos!!! I hope you are doing well. I e enjoyed seeing you post some of your finished stitching on Instagram! 💕

Hi Dear Friend. Well, I am finally in the space where I feel able to watch FlossTube (albeit whilst I am hemming new curtains!). A fab video - your FFO Santa Stops Here is just beautiful - you have done a wonderful job in the framing also - not easy with a border! Considering that was your first time beading....they are beautiful. They really look fantastic and stood out to me - I would never have known that was your first time! Also - I would never have noticed about your little tree branches pointing sideways instead of up! It just looks amazing to me. With your Winter Sampler - if it was me, I would frog. Stitching, for me, is supposed to be relaxing and I don't want to worry every time I am stitching on it about where to place things because I had miscounted. Once it is ripped out, I personally try to forget that I had ever stitched that bit before - it helps me to not mind frogging! However, having said that your Winter Sampler looks beautiful and if you hadn't mentioned it, I would never have known. Your quilting and wool applique projects are amazing - and as for your Attic Windows with Pete as the subject, well....I am in awe. You are one talented lady. I am so glad you succumbed to the temptation of "After the Walk"! It is adorable isn't it! Take good care - I will email you shortly. Best wishes and hugs xxx

Hello Gloria! I don’t know how I didn’t see your nice comment earlier. It was nice catching up with you via email. As I think you know, I did unpick that tree in Winter Sampler and really did not mind re-stitching it. I’m glad I did and it wasn’t really a big deal after all. I’m having such an urge to start something new but continue to focus on that sampler. So much to stitch; so little time! 💕💕💕💕

Such a fun video. Can’t wait to follow your dog progress and love your sheepy setting. I fell down the yarn trap of buying way more than I can knit in my lifetime and I’m determined not to do the same with cross stitch! I can knit lots faster than I stitch! I am trying to not have more than 2 WIPS at a time,

Hi Holly! Good to hear from you again! Oh dear, you are smart to stick to your plan. I should have learned my lesson from the quilting stash I’ve collected through the years AND the yarn collection that grew bigger than I planned. (Yarn takes up so much room!!!) When I returned to cross stitch, I told myself I would only buy what I would stitch, give the chart away and then buy something else. Well, that plan went right out the window. I’m with you in the WIPs, though. I can’t seem to have more than 2 going at the same time. (Having 3 -actually 4 - quilts going is bad enough!!!) 🤣🤣🤣

Your Santa Stops Here is lovely. I really checked it out since you finished it yourself! I watched your lacing tutorial and will be trying my hand at your technique sometime this week. (Wish me luck! Sometimes I have a great lacing result, sometimes not...) I wanted to comment on the spot that was left on your R&R Reproductions Winter Brew fabric. I have used Best Press in the past on R&R fabric and it left a spot. Ann from R&R Reproductions did a floss tube on ironing their fabrics and she uses Niagara Original Finish Ironing Spray Starch. That's what I now use and have had no problem with it. I spray it lightly on the back of the fabric (and spray about 12 inches away from the fabric). It gives a fabulous result. BTW, I'm a new subscriber and really enjoy your videos!
@allthestitcheswithcolleen4402
6 ай бұрын
Hi Carol and thank you so much for watching and subscribing! Thanks also for the tip about using Niagara spray. Goodness, that’s an old memory as my mother used to use it on ironing day! I’ll give it a try for those stubborn linen fabrics. I’m so glad you watched the lacing video and got something out of it. I have found it gets easier and quicker with practice. Also have found that some fabrics are easier than others. Some of the lightweight loosely woven linens are difficult to get perfectly straight because they get a little distorted with heavy stitching. Other than that, it’s a breeze!!! 🪡
