Khairuddin Aljunied is an Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore. He is the author of several books, most recently Radicals: Resistance and Mobilization in Colonial Malaya (2015) and Colonialism, Violence, and Muslims in Southeast Asia: The Maria Hertogh Controversy and Its Aftermath (2009).
In this video, Prof Khairudin spoke on P.Ramlee's films and using them as a source to find out more about the Malay community in the 50s and 60s because P.Ramlee will always portray the life of the Malay community through his films as the Malays were undergoing intensive challenges especially in the 50s and the 60s.
