Luke I was so shocked when I visited back home, one of the metros, that people my friends were all eating pastas, pizzas etc etc at the name of overpriced fanciful foods. It was like a show that they can afford all that fatty crappy food. We eat khitchdi, rice samba etc over here and back home people are eating all the fast foods etc. why do we always think anything from outside our culture is automatically high fashion and better food. Thanks so much for being so honest. I share your videos with my friends. Sad thing is they are giving such bad food to their children too!

I like Luke’s passion and, to some extent, his attempt to define a common sense medicine, a much needed approach. But, it would be good to see some scientific data as evidence. Yes, it would be wonderful to show that Indian food is as good if not better than the western food (at least for the Indian population; I am of Asian origin), but it would be good to see some evidence first. My family members are mostly following what he seems to suggest in this video: eat what they were brought up on with much caution etc. Yet, many are diabetic and some even even suffer from copd. After living with diabetes for the last 12 years on healthy diet ( low sugar, whole grain, including good Asian food), I developed diabetes and went on medicine with higher and higher dose reaching to the point of maximum dose. The medicinal dose kept going up despite my utmost attempt to do everything he suggests, including meditation. Finally, I went on a low carb diet -paleo type (yes, with quinoa plus other regimens), I am now non-diabetic. It’s been about 5 month: I went from chronic diabetic to borderline pre. I have collected a vast amount of data to track my progress, so I know what worked and why. Back home, I would love to tell my folks a simpler method like what he is proposing, but I would love to see some numbers. Remember, I went on my new diet after reviewing dozens of scientifically produced papers (ketogenic, versus vegan versus paleo versus sad etc.). As someone said, this video was confusing; I also agree. In his earlier video, he said eat raw veg. to help with acidity. Well, we South Asians love to cook our veg to death, which may be contradictory to the raw veg suggestion. Maybe, not cooking not as much may be the answer. In any case, I would like to learn more about his approach but with some science behind it. This is my first comment on KZitem.

Thanks luke for this video recently I've been getting real sick with wheat like being nausea and very lethargic so I suspect in insensitive to gluten not allergic tho, but quinoa just knock me out tho never know it was a grain I'm never going bother with that again, I think I'm definitely sensitive to some lectin in some foods I'll have to figure it out, I kno for sure coconut is one also tomatoes pumpkin and a few others which is my absolute favorites, I guess I'll have to ease them out of my diet, thank you again luke for opening my eyes to this lectin situation. My love and blessings to you and your lovely team ❤️

Hi Luke, This video was an absolute eye opener for me. I do have acidity issues. I have been eating what my mom has been giving me which is kichadi with loads of vegetables which are pressure cooked. I can tell you my body feel so much healthier and I feel much happier compared to the time when I was eating only grilled chicken breast and salads. Thank you Luke. I believe every Indian should follow this. We have been eating junk food all these years. Time to make the change. Luke I am in!

I've been listening to you now for just over 2 years but this is the first time I can't do what you say in this video, because to go back to the way I ate in the very beginning of my life would not make me happy at all as I have adopted a vegan lifestyle (apart from eggs) and I know I could never ever eat meat again as I stopped for ethical reasons and the intense cruelty in the industry.

I was extremely ill all my life, especially when I ate. Per DNA testing which included some informaiton on definite food intolerances and probable allergens , I seem to be geared mostly toward a low fat, fairly traditional Asian lifestyle, at least as far as eating goes. That's definitely NOT what I was eating growing up. I feel great eat kitchari or rice and veggies, in general. That's all I know I feel good in. Found out I have ancestry that is Southern and Northern Chinese, Punjabi and Gujaradi. I hope I spelled that right. And, I know there is Native American of varying sorts.
