"Fun" story: I was once admitted to the hospital for six whole weeks, being close to death. But I got stronger, and after five weeks I was strong enough to get surgery. One week later I was finally allowed to go back home. But before I left, one nurse called me and told me to follow her. We stopped at the stairway and then she told me that I was only able to leave if i could walk the stairs.... I couldn't believe my ears but I did what i was told - only to find out that I had forgotten how to walk the stairs!!! I was SHOCKED!!! I looked at her and she nodded knowingly. Thank God, I managed to walk the stairs after a few moments when I figured out to just bent one knee and lean forwards a bit, and something clicked in my brains and I was able to do something that we all take for granted (like going to the bathroom for the first time after 5 1/2 weeks of not eating - I got TPN through IV for those weeks - and after eating my first food, a delicious bowl of hospital custard. But that is a tale for another time!)

Thank you for sharing your story, sorry that you had to go through that experience and I’m glad you got through it ❤ Your story reminds me that I should never take simple things that I do (eg walking) for granted and that we should be grateful for what we have !
