Vacaville is a California Department of Corrections prison/ medical facility where Jim resided until his passing. What a great drummer he was . Glad I got to see/ hear him with Bonnie , Delaney & friends opening for Blind Faith in Santa Barbara many moons ago. 😎

Jim Gordon did not have a "long running association" with Steely Dan. "Pretzel Logic" was the only album of theirs that he played on.

There's a different Jim Gordon who is a LA session horn player. His credits frequently get mistaken for drummer James Beck Gordon's (like on the Band's "Last Waltz" concert album, which people say is drummer Gordon when it's the other guy). They both made solo albums in the '60s, with horn player Jim Gordon's called "Jim Gordon Plays Heavy" while dummer Jim Gordon's was "Jimmy Gordon & His JazzNPops Band."

Im 72 yrs old and I agree. He was constantly drumming. Played on everybody's albums. I also read that he said...drumming helped keep the demons away. Plus that he didnt want to be released from prison. Alcohol, drugs and scitophinia...not a good combination.

Jim was a dear friend for 20 years. I do not like this.
