About Zenab
In her current role, Zenab is an embedded PhD Researcher at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust. She seeks to examine South Asian Muslims’ access to and experience of family interventions for psychosis in Bradford. Her PhD demands critical thinking and the application of health psychology principles to tailor interventions that resonate with cultural sensitivities. It further contributes towards the understanding of mental healthcare within specific cultural and religious contexts and may inform policy and practice to culturally adapt mental health services for marginalised communities. Her work is driven by a commitment to challenge the status quo and foster inclusive practices within healthcare. Ultimately, it seeks to decolonise current thinking with the hope of improving mental health outcomes for South Asian Muslims in Bradford.
