@@salon381 I didn't use UV resin for my final step.. I used Faux Rizzle UV Epoxy. It just means that it was UV inhibitors in it to keep it from yellowing, not that it's a UV resin. I'm sorry for the confusion.

Anything that would keep the pen spinning so that the epoxy lays flat. I'm not really sure what you could use to spin it without a turner though.

That would be fish eyes. What kind of epoxy did you use? There are lots of different things that could lead to fish eyes in your projects. try standing then putting another light layer of epoxy over it to try to fill in the fish eyes.

It would probably be difficult to do without a turner because you need the turner to spin the pen so that the epoxy lays smoothly.

I have followed all the steps but when I get to the part of putting the pieces back in the silver clicker does not fit and I have been careful not go get epoxy in the barrel of the pen... what are your tips for this?
@KristisCustomCreations
3 жыл бұрын
Make sure that you don't add too much heat when you are sanding off the clip and you can even try an exacto knife to get the nub from where the clip was versus the sandpaper. If you put too much heat on it when softening that nub from the clip, it can warp the pen and cause the guts of the pen to not slide back into place properly. I hope that makes sense.

I have a question (if anyone can answer), when I read directions for Epoxy, they usually say “temperature need to be at least 70* when mixing epoxy” (or whatever temperature it is) but it doesn’t say that needs to be the temperature for it to cure/dry. Does the temp have to still be 70* or does the temp matter for it to cure/dry? Only wondering bc directions don’t say.
@KristisCustomCreations

Epoxy likes warmer temperatures. So I would recommend keeping the temp 70° or higher while your cups are drying.

@@KristisCustomCreations I was just double checking. My house is an older house & it’s very drafty. I honestly haven't ever used UV Resin but if you are able to cure it as the pen spins then you may possibly be able to use it. @@KristisCustomCreations of course!! Thank you for the reply ❤❤ now does it have to spin? Or can I just let it sit? First time doing this, sorry!!
@KristisCustomCreations

Yes, it would need to spin for the epoxy (resin) to lay evenly. If you didn't spin it, the Epoxy would all gather down at one end. If you are using the UV resin, I would think that you could spin it by hand under the light since the light cures it super quick.
