Why we didn’t include the 1,100,000, is it because at the end of the year or you included it but you missed the 100,000 repurchased shares? I’m confused

1,200,000 outstanding on Sep 30 - 100,000 shares repurchased on Oct 1 = 1,100,000 outstanding from Oct 1 to Dec 31 (1,200,000-100,000=1,100,000) Do you see it now?

@@BreakingBadAccounting Yes I get this. But what about the last sentence ( 1,100,000 shares outstanding on 31 December 20xx) how can we deal with it
@BreakingBadAccounting

@@Someone11i that is a statement of fact. We also have the same amount outstanding on Oct 1. What are you looking to deal with? We are calculating the WASO for the year. Not sure how else to explain it. there are 1,100,000 outstanding the full 3 months BECAUSE of the 100,000 repurchase on Sep 30

@@BreakingBadAccounting so we do nothing because it’s the end of the year and nothing to do with it. Honestly I don’t know if you understand what I’m saying I’m sorry 🤣

I get confused when determining the fraction of the year, sometimes it makes no sense. As an example from Pearson. Apr 29. Declared a 20% stock dividend. Jun. 3 Issued the stock dividend Jul 29 Repurchased 8,500 common shares Nov 1. Sold 2000 common shares Dec 31 Closed income summary So the example gives you fractions of the year: 5/12 2/12 3/12 2/12 So, I have no idea why the first fraction of the year takes into account the first 5 months. Do we only account for transactions such as the repurchase and sale of shares when determining the fraction of the year?

Greeting, sir. I have a question about the description of line 2: + 1,200,000 (6 months/12 months) April-Oct. Since the story said that the condition would be maintained until 9/30. I think it should be modified as: + 1,200,000 (6 months/12 months) April-Sep. I don’t know whether my thought is correct or not. Thank you, sir.

April 1 to September 30 is the time period that the shares were outstanding with no event. The event is on October 1. Not sure what you are trying to point out.

you really should've covered stock splits and dividends as they are a main proponent of WACSO.
