Dr. Devi Shetty, Chairman, Narayana Health spoke to BW|Businessworld's Sapna Bhardwaj on the sidelines of 2nd Healthcare Summit, recently held on 5th June 2015. He spoke on how the gap between the urban-rural can be bridged. He asserted the importance of making hospitals which is accessible and at the correct co-ordinates, so that the challenges such as the cost of the stay exceeding the cost of the hospital can be avoided.
He also said that the government should change the policy of medical education, we have to equalise undergraduate and post-graduates otherwise we will not have gynecologist and pediatrician in smaller towns.
