Thank you very much for sharing the entire series. I'm new to welding, perhaps I'll start with a small utility trailer, but one day I should be ready to build a nice big equipment trailer like this. Thank you again.

I went through my steel receipts and shipping weights for parts. My estimate is 3500 pounds. I need to get it weighed.

@@kmac9759 thank you I've been looking at the same trailer to buy one and the cheapest one I found was 5900 on up so you can definitely save some money by building your own. Looking forward to the next video

About 4200. But that was 4 months ago. Prices have gone up some but i bet it could still be built for less than 5000.

Do you have some plans that you could lay out, I would buy them just to have a summary of these video's I need a trailer for my tractor and this would be the perfect length if I can add some flip up ramps and come out at 25'

Amazon, the rear stop lights are 6 inch ovals, and all the marker lights are 3/4 inch bullet lights.

What did it cost you in material to build?
@kmac9759
3 жыл бұрын
4200 total. 1500 for steel, 1500 for axles, suspension, wheels and tires. 400 for lumber and fasteners. The remaining 800 was the jack, coupler, lights and wiring, and welding consumables.

How did you figure the GVWR?
@kmac9759
Жыл бұрын
Each axle can carry 7,000 pounds. So 14,000 pounds, plus the tongue weigh of roughly 1000 pounds. So depending on how you load it, the gvwr is 14-15 thousand pounds.

@@kmac9759 I’ve been looking at building a 6x12 deck over trailer but wasn’t sure what type of metal to use. Obviously steel but not sure on thickness and c-channel or something else. Just planning on a single 7k axle. Would you happen to have any recommendations?
@kmac9759

@@brandon7798 im a build it beefier than I think type of guy. Id look and see if there is anything similar to what you want that someone already manufactures and see what they use for the weight for their steel.

By chance do the receipts show how many feet in total of steel that you bought for the 3” and 6” channel?
@kmac9759
3 жыл бұрын
5 sticks of the 6 inch, 7 sticks of the 3 inch. That was with cross members on a 16 inch center. And that was enough 3 inch to build ramps. They were 20 foot lengths.

@@kmac9759 what was pound per foot that you chose again? I appreciate the answers!!!
