I lived in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia from 1953 to 1960 and seeing this video educated me in the difficult job it was to research and have faith that oil would be found. I didn't know that the name Dhahran was because of the Jebel of that name. Enjoyed viewing this video.

Great documentary with its old archival films. When I was in Dubai, we used to hear about ARAMCO and I read about the Saudi/American oil deal between Roosevelt and the Saudi King. It is a great venture, the US with the technology and the Saudis their oil. Those early days must have been heady and challenging, my hats off to the pioneers!

Very good , and first time I went to Saudi Arabia since 1993 worked in Saudi British hospital in Riyadh capital city . And.almost i roamed in KSA , but those days Riyadh , Jeddah , Dammam , Al khober only good cities , and remaking villages , towns , district was too backward I mean no development . But now present everything is changed & In sha Allah next month I'm going to Saudi Arabia after 25 years , and I want to meet my Saudi old friends , and also cost in villages , towns , & tribal areas to see is it really devolved or not .

Kindest thanks for sharing this. The discovery of oil and it's impact on Saudi society will, no doubt, be discussed, analysed and assessed by future generations. It is also fascinating to observe the contrasting perspectives of traditional Arabian culture and technological modernization.

May be king Salman was in 1934 supervised the survey of oil exploration in the region twice of Texas. Very nice picture of this frail person. Pakistan is slightly larger than Texas. I have been to Texax capital and Wichita Falls. I had seen oil machines drilling oil. Also I had seen the Oil Barrons. Pakistan was producing 60,000 barrels per day. The local manpower works in Saudi Arabia.

When I watch a documentary and I hear the words “...millions of years ago” I turn it off. According to the Bible the earth is 6000 years old..I trust God’s Word rather than man! 🌍
