Eric should have been facing the wall to his left. I've been to that building more times than I can count. It's right near a homeless soup kitchen. Surrounded by Iron bars. He and Keith Richards keep that building alive. You can feel Robert Johnson's presence the minute you see the building. No other place like this in Dallas.

John Hammond is one of the best technical and most authentic white bluesman that I've heard while there are other fine white blues players out there the black blues players have the key to unlock the DNA blues gene in all of is. I think it's a grave mistake to pigeonhole the blues into features as basic as financial status and skin tone. This music is (or can be) about pain, it's about frustration and heartache and the struggle to carry on when everything is piling up against you. Everyone alive has known those emotions, which is why the blues is so universal. It's in all of us.

6 жыл бұрын
vinnie X, Amen to all the above responses to you. You apparently know nothing about Eric Clapton or the difficult life he’s lived with tragic losses that he has used his music to cope with. Tears from Heaven was written for his young son who died. There is no greater loss than losing your child, and it’s a loss I’m not sure I could be strong enough to withstand. My grandmother lost both her sons, I’ve got friends who’ve lost their children, and it doesn’t matter how much time passes the hurt never goes away or decreases, and there is always a void within the parents who lose their child. The death of a child destroys families, it literally tears them apart & marriages crumble under the enormous weight of grief and sorrow for the deceased child. The few families that do remain intact are never the same, with one always accusing the other of bringing about the child’s death. I’ve heard people say the only way they can cope with such loss is place it in Yahuah’s hands & be grateful for the time they had with their child and know they will see them again. My grandmother used to wake me up by sitting beside me & stroking my hair and face. When I asked why she was staring at me she smiled and said “because you look just like my Junior”. It’s really incredible how when you lose a loved one that crushes you completely, Yahuah will often send someone into your life that ironically has the looks and personality traits of the individual you lost and were grieving for. I look like my uncle Junior who died before I was born, a friend of mine lost her 14 year old son & shortly after discovered her daughter was pregnant with her second child who happened to be a boy, and these aren’t isolated cases, there are many cases such as this. Yahuah’s timing is always perfect and never too early nor too late, but always arrives on time & at the exact moment we need it.

@shesoneinamelia
9 жыл бұрын
That's your opinion...not sure where the disconnect is though because I definitely "feel" his pain. It's real and not manufactured. Eric has been through some tough shit. He lost his 4 year old son (who meant the world to him)...when his baby boy fell out of a window and died. Fell from the 53rd floor of a Manhattan apartment building. Not sure if you've ever experienced grief or loss to that magnitude. But it changes a man's soul. If you can't feel it...then maybe it's because you've never experienced it. That's why Jimi asks, "Are you Experienced?" Take it easy man.
