One of the coolest additions to the 24 Nights legacy. Sexy vocals, jazzy chord changes, tight band, and a fiery, Hendrix-y outro solo

The chugging power chord Eric plays there is TOTALLY MELTING HOT! He apparently used a combination of his Leslie cabinet, Vox wah-wah and Dyno-My-Piano chorus pedals - in conjunction with his guitar's active onboard preamp and the «Crunch» channel from his Soldano SLO-100 tube amplifiers - to create that fat, juicy chorused sound.

Always loved this song on the Journeyman album. This is fantastic. Blue Lou on Sax too (Blues Brothers ref)

This is the 13-piece band version and in my opinion better in video and audio quality than the unofficial bootleg from the 4-piece show filmed on January 24, 1990.

The best band he ever had. The New released of 24 nights is much better than the first in 1991.

I lost my father at a very young age and ever since I discovered Clapton he's been like a father figure to me.

Thank you for your comment, I'm sorry for the loss of your father, but you have to hold on. Eric grew up without a father too, he found out who he was in the late 90's and he discovered that his father died a decade earlier, in 1985. Eric was so lost without a father figure during his childhood that he wrote "My Father Eyes" in the early 90's, which he later included on the album "Pilgrim" in 1998.

@@e.c.chronicles1989 "My Father's Eyes" in its original form has a more heavier sound compared to the Pilgrim version. Clapton recorded an acoustic performance of the song during the Unplugged sessions in 1992, unfortunately it wasn't officially released until the expanded/remastered disc containing previously unavailable content came into surface in 2013.

@johnconstantinides Thanks for pointing it out. I've read it some time ago, and I definitely prefer the "Unplugged" version of that song.

@@e.c.chronicles1989 Eric did the original rock version for the first time during a concert at Brighton on February 1, 1992. It was featured on the unofficial «Another Page» bootleg circulating across the Internet. Another excellent acoustic performance took place at the Royal Albert Hall on February 24, 1996. Finally we have the semi-acoustic version of 2013, followed by a latin-inspired variation in 2019 featuring percussionist Pedrito Martinez.

I have the original double CD version, purchased probably 25 years ago. I have listened to the entire 5 hours on both Spotify and Amazon and am completely amazed at the quality and diversity. Probably the best ever from Eric and could only have been eclipsed by being at all the concerts.

I have to add Ronnie Cuber, Lou Marini, Alan Rubin, and Randy Brecker that somehow wasn’t mentioned in the box set? The above was the horn section from the 13 piece band.

yes, in the 1990's big band he had a 4 piece horn section, no horn section in 1991 big band...

CLAPTON IS GOD!!!!!

원래 이 라이브는 앞부분에서 Greg와 Eric이 stevie wonder의 maybe your baby를 짧게 부르면서 이어지는데 저작권상의 이유로 편집된 것 같음.
