And, he is self-taught. A remarkable talent. There are only a handful of musicians that can turn me inside out on certain arrangements they play of familiar songs. This is, of course, one. It has been said to play at this level a musician must have the "fire in the belly." The following have surpassed that level...to a raging inferno, in my opinion: Eric Clapton, Alvin Lee, Prince, Mike Campbell, Carlos Santana, Derek Trucks (although considerably younger, immensely talented), Joe Walsh, Tim Carmen (keyboardist for Clapton), Denmont Tench. There are no doubt more, but these all immediately come to mind.

I love his live stuff. I wish this man would live forever and be able to forever perform these live shows for people.

He had too much alcohol, I was right up front, roughly in the first 10 people into Rich Stadium in Buffalo. He fell down, and could not finish show. I was 10th person in to Rich Stadium Buffalo. Considered his worst show ever. Every other time was great! I always wondered how he could play Sunshine of your Love and other hit songs so many times and still sound great. Love him, major influence on me.

the "unplugged" version is wonderful it's true, certainly and precisely because it's unplugged and also because of that pianist, but to me this one is (maybe far) better.. I've just re-listened to it (it's only the 2nd time I hear it) and have been absolutely stunned by his unbelievable quality, it's SO sensitive and spiritual, never a note too much in a line, never a useless repetition, never too slow, to speed, too heavy .. it's perfection!!!
