JustRandom David I just discovered his music. Do you think he'll ever record again? also, does he still sing this good?

He still sings very well, not quite as good as he used to. And no he will not be recording but he is playing at my church.

And then 3 decades later, a guy named Zo! makes his version of a song that I think most listeners don't even know. From 1982, this absolute AOR classic defines the sound of that era. Smooth and detailed to the brink, with a gorgeous atmosphere.

Thanks for the Zo! call out. It is only logical that 80s babies and fans of neo soul\Eric Roberson would eventually end up here, listening to Eric Tagg and the West Coast AOR sound.

I am so embarrassed that I missed so much of this Awesome music in the 80's, but Its not all my fault because I just learned that much of it was only released in Japan & perhaps other countries. All I can say now is that's Its like a sweet new vocal affair, that I get to feel right now for the first time! Decades later. Thank you Eric,Rit,Abe and all the rest. It just feels So damn good! Thank you all

And for anybody just finding Eric's work, as I am, I wanted to recommend watching his interview with the funk hall of Fame, which, while comical at times, was exactly the personal history that I was looking to find. I'm not a God believer, but I know love & harmony when I hear it! This song is Love & Joy, and we can apply it anywhere we need to, for a better world 😊😇

I like both versions actually upon hearing them side by side. Eric Tagg was ridiculously soulful, in every song I've heard from him is this consistency in his vocal chops and technique. His chords/ transitions are like butter, I know these are the very things that drew a great artist like Eric Roberson to remake this

Marketing, image, any number of things. But bottom line is that you have to get your artist seen in order to attract an audience of any size. That's the biggest part of the problem; how much a record company is willing to invest in an artist to get them the exposure that will create a following.
