Nice video brings back memories as I was employed by McDonald Douglas and that’s a good bet that I probably worked on that aircraft not many MD 87’s were manufactured the majority of them went to European airlines I also worked on the MD 90,MD11,717,Finished my career on the C-17 of all the aircraft listed my favorite to work on as a mechanic was the MD-80 series I loved that Pratt & Whitney engine

The low-bypass JT8D engines of the MD-80 make a higher pitch noise than the high-bypass engines used on more modern jetliners, that's not unusual.

lol yep. The original version was "ruined" by conversations in the background. Only recently that I went back to make some audio corrections.

One of my favorites to see at MFR during the fire season. I heard they usually have the other 2 MD's there when it's not fire season. Also 103 I believe is just used for testing since they've had some problems with the fire retardant going into the engines when they drop it.
