Great musical session! Here between us, but what a beautiful voice Linda Flanagan had! I don't remember having heard about her before. As to Patsy Cline, her early death perhaps have been the greatest female loss to country music. Thanks, 2packs4sure for sharing with us these enjoyable country music moments.

I was lucky enough to buy this in the UK in the late 60's. I haven't dug it out in a while but I'm certain I got the British release of this. It may have been on the EMI label. It's stored away now with a few other ET LP's . Great to hear this again Thanks for the sharing.

Wow, Mr. 2packs, Another great album to listen to. Love it! I've been wanting to put these albums on CD for home play & car play. I'm looking for a record player that records t CD's lately, the place I saw them at sold out of them. Hope they get them back in stock soon. I'll enjoy listening this way for now. I'm looking for the "Record Shop" LP Live" next. Thanks for your work in putting these albums together for us to enjoy & I like the photos you add, also.

Thanks, I'm pretty sure the Record Shop album is not "live" ... None of those Decca "live" albums from the 60's were actually live. The Midnight Jamboree album is ET speaking live and edited in recordings. They are usually referred to as psuedo-live, but I don't think the Record Shop album is even psuedo -live. The only known quality live recording of ET in the 60's that exists is this........ kzitem.info/news/bejne/k6Or2H2ufoyHn4Y

@@IvesMarcelin Oh,,, I didn't realize you were asking a question,, OK,,,, from left to right is Jan Kurtis (drums) Johnny Johnson ( I THINK ),, those two were with the band for a short period,,, two years at the most.. Next is ET of course, then Buddy Emmons sitting at the steel,, Leon Rhodes behind Buddy,, and finally Jake Drake on upright bass who was with Ernest from 1945 thru 1968...

Yes, I believe you're right about that, those albums were not recorded "live." I seem to recall now reading about that somewhere or hearing about it. As far as that Record Shop album, I think I was confusing that with the Midnite Jamboree album. I also found that one in pristine condition a few years ago.

I also had (actually still have) one of those Philips CD recorders. It didn't last long, and it didn't seem worth it to fix. The direct-to-computer system is much better, thank goodness. Anyway, thanks for uploading another great ET album. Sounds great - both in performance and of course, sound.

Glad you enjoyed the album. Mine still works but the (ULTRA SPECIFIC) blank discs are not available. I still have some that I got from eBay in a minor bidding war about 8 or 9 years ago. The unit was always fussy but I ultimately got a huge amount of stuff transferred in excellent (LOSSLESS) quality..... My"favorite" trick it would do was a failed finalize leaving you with a full disc with no way to play it,,, though at one point for a short window I had a version of ROXIO on my PC in the early 2000's that would play them,, but after one particular ROXIO update that nice feature stopped working. The other trick was "cderror" ,,,,,,,,, usually after the disc was at least 80% full though sometimes it would do it in the first few minutes or even seconds which was MUCH preferable.

The ones that worked in my unit have not been available for close to a decade. I did much research at the time and tried several blanks that claimed to be compatible and the unit wouldn't recognize them. I won an eBay auction for a partial spindle of the old Maxell cd~MUSIC 74 min gold colored ones that my unit always liked and of course it works like it always did.

The music seems to have survived a number of transfers pretty well ! I had a reel to reel Teac in the late 80's - think w, DBX - but the compansion didn't seem to track real good and signal to noise without it wasn't great on the 1/4" 10" tapes I was using. Was the faint hum w. harmonics at the beginning on the LP? (YEP! your Ampex was pretty darn good sound wise) It sounds fantastic - recordings just seem worse today overall. I like the old Left - Center - Right recordings better than pan pot. What happened to ET's TV shows? I recorded a bunch but stupidly let them go thinking there would be DVD issues. BTW - Kitty's tone makes me think of "Queen For A Day" with Jack Bailey and contestants of misery. lol

Thanks, it was really just one transfer technically, vinyl to tape then the tape to CD,, so virtually nothing was lost on the second transfer.... It was a belt drive 1965 Ampex 2050 vacuum tube auto reversing deck and it sounded amazing,, it was also an endless hassle because new old stock belts were weak and the new belts available were worse and changing them was a nightmare. I could never trust it mechanically,,, electronically it was always flawless except towards the end of it's life when I'd get a little audio noise from a leaky capacitor ( I think ) for the first couple minutes of warm up,,, then she was silent.. Every tape from vinyl I made on it was so fat and crisp,,,,,,, sigh,,,,,,,, I wish I could have kept it going.. A few of ET's syndicated shows were officially released on DVD some years back but the series started in late 65' just before ET's voice started slipping and judging from the ones I had seen before AND since,,, they really don't work for me,,, I wish they did... The band solos are usually kick ass though ! If ET had done the shows from say 60' - 65',,,,,,,,, omg,,,,,,,, that would have been heaven !! The production also really needed Porter Wagoner's or the Wilburn brothers studio and soundman because the sound on ET's shows wasn't the best,,, Porter and the Wilburn's did it better technically..
