Define a REAL fan! I'm not crazy about ERRA's EP, but I like their first and second albums a lot more than most bands I enjoy. I'm not too crazy about Avenged Sevenfold, but I LOVED Metallica so much. I bought all their albums from "Kill 'Em All" to "Death Magnetic" and listened to all their songs nonstop. I stopped listening to them though because I got tired of their music after three years. They're still awesome to listen to once in a while though! :)

Straight edge is generally defined as "No drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes and no promiscuous sex." i.e. no sleeping around. Some people choose to live by variations of this lifestyle, e.g. no sex at all, no prescription drugs (even if you are prescribed to you), vegetarianism/veganism. but these are all personal choices/variations.

Pattern Interrupt Lyrics [Verse 1: Garrison Lee] I’ve lingered for far too long in the shallows of this water A body, cold and constant, embraces the gift of a daughter To be wrapped in the arms of a tormenting giant She is carried with an air of relentless defiance (defiance) [Chorus 1: Jesse Cash] Beautiful beyond comparison Her lungs embrace the toxic air Knowing this, she, she takes a breath Beautiful beyond comparison [Post-Chorus: Garrison Lee] The experience of reality, to her, was a formality Engendered as the giant’s gift, she damned the waters and slowed our drift [Verse 2: Garrison Lee] What can we learn from the remains of a goddess? We must change the pattern before we We become, we become godless (we become godless) We must change the pattern [Bridge: Jesse Cash] Interrupt this flux that connects the complexities Learn to uncover the secrets in subtleties [Chorus 2: Jesse Cash] Beautiful beyond comparison Her lungs embrace the toxic air Knowing this she, she takes a breath Begging for her chemical rest [Outro: Garrison Lee & Jesse Cash] A body, cold and constant, embraces (the gift of a daughter) Embraces (the gift of a daughter) A body, cold and constant (the gift of a daughter) Embraces the gift of a daughter

In my opinion(Song meanings are normally opinionated) the song is about a girl whom i'd assume a band member knows is throwing her life away. The guy has been trying to help her but she wont accept it and disregards all advice "the experiance of reality, to her, was a formality" "her lungs embrace the toxic air, knowing this, she takes a breathe". I could be off but thats my interpretation of the song anyway.

I dont remember criticizing anybody for there beliefs and doings. I prefer to let people make there own decisions without trying to influence them into something else. Straight edge used to be a scene i had no problems with until it resorted to intolerant assholes that use violence. So now i have a problem with the "straight edge" scene. Most true straight edge people would agree with me since alot of my freinds are true to the meaning.

What is the meaning of this song ?
@HybridSpektar
10 жыл бұрын
It has a metaphorical meaning. What I get from it is that, theres a goddess that has watched over a world for a very long time and has deep love for the people below. Then, she becomes pregnant and give birth to a daughter, only for her child to be taken from her. Since her daughter was taken from her, she abandons the world she watched over in search of her daughter, while the people below try to find a way to call to her so she can come back. Metaphorically speaking, its probably about struggling to search for answers in your life, but then theres always someone whos there to pull you through your hard times. Thats what I get from it. Hope that helps.
