Great restoration though if I must say I would have liked the paint better if it was left a matte or a satin type of finish would have liked more like the movie. Just my opinion 😉

Very good restoration. The redone Bat mobile looks awesome and is now ready to deal with all the criminals in Gotham City or elswhere... But by the way, arn't the Bat mobiles normaly flat black painted?

1989 Ertl was gloss black with a yellow logo on the roof, 1991 reissue was flat black with a white logo on the roof, but they were the same casting.

That's actually a Batman Returns (1992) Batmobile. The white bat logo is the differentiator. I always preferred the white logo. Felt cleaner to me.

Yeah I was looking at mine and it has yellow. Both say 1989, but mine is made in Thailand, not China.

Cool looking restoration, love how the windscreen turned out, you seemed to have achieved a black lining, dark, mid and high lighting effect with a simple swipe of a weathering stick! Nice job, Jas.

She’s my favorite Batmobile, I have a little bit of an affinity for this one because I was living in LA at the time and I was in post production on the original Batman movie I saw her in real life, you truly re-created her beauty. So, “ riddle me this, Batman “ when is your next project? Can’t wait.

have recently aquired a1989 ertl bat tbatmobile although i was obviously whell luved and played with just not as thrashed as the one you have here still wasnt sure what to do thanks i must say your insane please share more of the technics as to what to use luv scooter bloody good stuff l

The cars in the first and second films were the same, but one had shiny paint, and one was more matt, the lights were different colours too. Glad you used all the Bat products, it might not have turned out so good otherwise!😁

Looks fine, but you could polish the metal surface a bit more. Also the paint looks cheap. It could be done better with an airbrush and metallic paint. You must see baremetalhw channel

GREAT JOB!!! WOW!!! Another one that could have been thrown away looks better than new. Keep up the great work. The blue in the windows really sets it off. I reviewed one in much better condition and mine has plastic windows.

Wow! What a great job thank you for doing this car. I have two of these and want to try those weathering powders you use. I am amazed by how a few swipes changed the look so much. IMHO you did a better job than Ertl because I never liked the big yellow bat symbol on top. That windscreen you did made it look fantastic. This Batgirl fan is impressed.

New to the channel, I've got to say that I loved the repair. Especially the the blue tinted, it really looked like you could look in and see Batman speeding off to to fight some Gotham crime. That said I got a little bat tired of all bat overdone bat puns.

This is actually from Batman Returns from 1992...the white Bat logo on the top of the hatch gives it away...the 1989 one had a yellow one or none at all...I had both...pretty much the same casting

PS...The last photo is the entrance on the Manhattan side of the Manhattan Bridge. Under the ramp would be used as the villians' hideout in the Kilmer film. Quite a treat!

While I would have made different decisions, particularly painting lights...The techniques for details were stellar, and I hope one day to use them. This particular car was the second release of the '89 version denoted by the white bat decal on the roof rather than the 1st edition yellow. Either would have to go IMHO. Ultimately I'm left asking, "Where does he get those wonderful toys?"

Strange I had the 89 and 92 and I remember the 89 had a yellow bat symbol on top of the roof while the 92 version had a white bat symbol. Still have the 92 one.

The silver bat decal means it was most likely the Batman returns model the original had a yellow background to the batsymbol

I actually have this same car in my collection! Sure the paint hasn’t exactly been as worn as yours was, but the Bat-Symbol on the cockpit is still there.

Unless the logo has completely bleached, the white bat logo indicates the rerelease of the car for Batman Returns 1992
