Buy a KTM 890 ADV-R it has the suspension already, or upgrade it to a Rally version, to have even better suspension smaler Rally rims Akrapovic exaust in the right position ;-). Get rid of the double front disk, and all the unnecessarily stuff used for comfort and road use, and only but 16 liter in the tank. Put carbon where ever you can, and you will end up with round about the same weight. Oh yea you probably will have som more power and especial low torque as the T7 (even with the especially mapping on the T7). But I still love this T7 build and all the work that Pol Tarres put into it. He is to my opinion one of the best riders of the world (on tis kind of machines) and does amazing things with his mid weight twin.

Thanks so much!!! I hope to have some news soon, currently these are only being used on the factory bikes so we can't release any dyne charts unfortunately. The 700 is a great bike, but it is nowhere where it could have been, had it been designed WITHOUT all the short legged or inexperienced "new" ADV wishful rider in mind. 178 Kg is still too much wheel travel maxing out at 230mm is not cool either. Oil filter in harms way (bash plates can deform and those that don't are heavy or bulky) and crankshaft high up on the 5?th floor and then those rigid coolant lines? WTF! YES (!) it all still comes out and works together amazing. But then again, it is about the missed opportunity - this could bike have been made so much better from the factory to begin with. Not that it matters, but JFI, I have been a steadfast Yamaha fan and rider for about 35 years now, which among others even includes a dedicated pilgrimage to Iwata factory (communication center).
