Her sense of rhythm is astonishing... the way she can hold down both the bass and vocal rhythms..

There's no use Of a moonlight glow Or the peaks where winter snows What's the use of the waves that will break In the cool of the evening What is the evening Without you It's nothing It may be You will never come If you never come to me What's the use of my wonderful dreams And why would they need me Where would they lead me Without you To nowhere

My absolute favorite. The pure talent is just ridiculous… I have NO idea how Gretchen managed to clap like that while singing on another beat. Sheesh - just so beautiful!!

Not to mention how Esperanza, as usual, manages to sing while playing bass upbeat, something which would require two brains for a normal human being!

Frank Sinatra did this tune years ago on a Jobim themed album, the English title they used was "If You Never Come to Me.." This version is so bare bones, and much more intense. Primal bossa? Completely different take. Wonderful.

One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. I love the simplicity, and even though I don't understand the words, the feel of the music almost brings me to tears. Please, never stop making music if all of it is of this ethereal quality.

The diversity in approach with these ladies is extreme, and that's why they get along great.. Gretchen is like a new age Billie Holiday - extremely minimalist and selective, while Spalding is always exploring on the verge of comfort zone
