It was a well deserved red card maybe the only issue is that the player should have been booked whi chocked him. But a red card even when not deserved is never overturned. The Olympics, national teams, [BLANK] Pride, etc... all of these perpetuate division, nationalism, could lead to xenophobia. Everyone involved is at fault but the guy who acted like an enraged animal (he did) running around being aggressive is the one who gets off scot free? That is privilege right there. He isnt the only player that has suffered but it has been the most severe recently. He has complained not once, twice but 9 times and nothing had been done. ive followed Real Madrid since mid 80s i feel Vini wasnt supported well by his team mates earlier on in the season where he was been clearly targeted & kicked even with out the ball... If Ramos Pepe Casemiro were around he would of been protected better on the field, Secondly Benzy as captain has shone poor leadership qualities i can only imagine Ramos Gerrard or Keane would of acted better.. 3rdly Real Madrid should of had a plan in place if this happens the team walks seeing as the referee didnt completely end the game completely

@@platnumj Um perhaps you should familiarise yourself with the decision of the committee. Vini was given a YELLOW first. After the referee saw the VAR takes it was changed to a red. But it's the same in criminal court if you submit evidence that is dodgy/tampered with/ cops violated your rights...you could literally walk even though you did something. The ref changed his decision based on VAR evidence that was shown to be flawed. So flawed in fact that those operating VAR at the game have been fired..... I mean if your lawyer can't win that case he's not a lawyer.

Don't say what you don't know. All the team showed support to him, even last game Courtois told him that they will leave the game if he wanted to and Lucas Vazquez confronted the racist that was pitch line calling him that. Some players are not really vocal or confrontational like Modric or Kroos and we may wanto more publicly like with Benzema but the do support him. Also, is the first time in History that a club has decided to step on La Liga and directly go to court by their own means to fight against racial hate crimes, so Real Madrid is also doing stuff, thanks to that 6 referees have been fired and that's why sanctions have come soon. Don't make it like nobody supports him when Real Madrid and madridistas are all with him.

Love ESPN’s switcharoo… 2 weeks ago, Stevie, Craig Ale & others were talking about Vini’s “behavior” & “maturity” when it was clear as they he was getting abused. Now that there is such a reaction all of a sudden it’s different?

When these things are happening, the bench players need to go take a picture of the section and provide that to the authorities. Plus post it online so we can have a go at them.

Action is being taken because it spread like wildfire online and made la liga lose face. Hopefully more is done and harsher penalties given out if this ever happens again.

Is the red card being rescinded due to the ref blatantly ignoring the chokehold or due to Vini's response being as a result of emotion boil over from being racially abused? I hope it is the first one, because it was a valid red (for swinging at the guy who was fighting him) based on past decisions. We've seen reds been given for reciprocating to violence already in the league. If the latter, then it shows a blatant lack referring standard in Spain, which is worrying to say the least.

Especially if Vini knows there is racists among fans, which he clearly knows. Vini brought all this hate on himself with his prideful actions in stadiums, especially when he was in Castilla. He needs to learn humility, you never see Eder and Alaba insulting opposing fans. People do idiotic things when mad, like saying racist things. Vini should shut up and play, see how the fans will direct less insults to him.

Vinicius is not only amazing player but a better human. I wish Ramos was still around and he would have protected him on and off the field. The senior players like Benzema, Modric and Kronos have not been vocal enuff or supportive during the incident

People have to seperate the racial incicdents and the fight that broke off that had absolutely nothing to do with racism, Vini deserved that red card and so did the other player that choked him But Vini gets the red card lifted and the refs get sanctioned 🤣🤣. Next time if a club is a repeat offender, the game should be stopped, 3 points awarded to the offended club and the offending club fined double this precedent amount.

I strongly believe that some of these referees need to face sanctions as well.... clearly their actions suggest they support racism because we've witness those being abused rather receiving red cards from the referees.

For me, the most appalling side of this saga that no one is talking about is the referee's lack of empathy in the midst of all that to show VJ a red card. It shows clearly that some referees don't get a dam about the players' welfare on the field of play. otherwise, why will the referee show him a red card?

Vini might not have the best personality. He may be arrogant, rude, cocky or whatever you may think of him. However, that's him and you cannot change it, we watch him because its beautiful to watch him play, but there is no excuse to racially abuse someone because of his skin color or personality. The part that matters is that Vini jr turned around after the fact and hit the guy. The red card had nothing to do with racism and a red card should never be receded. This being said, Valencia isn’t innocent either, and they got punished by more than just a red card. If Vini kept the red card, then I would say the charges would be equal.
