Chrissie looks good. Happy that she recovered. From the 70s to now I think I’ve seen every one of her televised matches (kudos to KZitem). That backhand was such a thing of beauty

Her Wimbledom matches with Evonne Goolagong Cawley are my favorites, such opposiyte styles and class on both sides of the court, Now THATS a great memory to have (and all 4 matches are on KZitem!)

Chrissie Evert is always so cordial and complementary toward McEnroe. I love seeing that. They both know how huge this is.

These two great American Tennis players are so reverent and so fun at the same time! They have both won and lost and just honor the event for what a real wonder it is.

Chris is so humble but she always even moments after the last ball was struck could give a genuine objective response within moments of winning or losing. She gave every match, every point her all. So why not be honest. Her record will not be surpassed , she could recharge her batteries to give her best in every match she played she had so much respect not to be overconfident and few times she was she admits to having made that rookie mistake. She realizes that there is just so much in the tank and all you can do is concentrate on the match you are playing, give it your all s9 you have no regrets or excuses. Most consistent player f all time , reaching Sf or better in 52 of 56 slam events. Played 34 slam titles winning 18. On clay she won 94.8 matches played on clay for 19 years. Lost only 22 X out of 2352 matches. Fromm73 august loss to Goolagong in Cincinnati - I was there - she won 125 straight matches on clay till 79 losing a third set tie break 7-4 to Austin in 79 then won 64 more until Hana beat her in 81 French sf 7-5,6-4. She then reversed the outcome winning W over a nervous Hana. Her greatest W triumph was in 76 over Goolagong 8-6 in third set her first win over Evonne on grass. Then won clay at forest hills US open 6-3,6-0 winning last ten games to cement number one. For 3 years she didn’t play the French when she never lost on clay playing WTT instead ofv5he French and didn’t play 10 AO when she had a good shot of winning some of those titles. Back then AO was played at end of year and top players didn’t make the trip. The AO and French are bigger events now. The first 5 AO court won against Jane Lehane rarely losing more than 2 games a set. Other top players didn’t play AO. During X-mad break. So courts record at AO is so what inflated. She would e won 76,77,78 French and at least half of the ten AO. That’s 26 slams. She was 4-10 vs Martina I’m slam finals - 6 of the losses in slams to Martina went 3 sets. 3 of which were lost by a service break in the third set. Overall at W she was 2-7 vs Martina in Sf and f at W. She was 1-3 at open two of which were one service break in third set. At AO she lost 7-5 in third 81 . Her four slam wins were 3 French titles and a 82 AO played on grass. The grass at W in 80’s played much faster than the grass now and all bounced much lower in 70-89’s. If they had been played on grass today the result may have given chrissie a few more wins but who knows, Martina was made for grass as Chris’s game was made for clay.
