Hey! So Maitreyi Ramakrishnan’s ethnic background is Sri Lankan Tamil. Her parents immigrated to Canada during the civil war so she may identify as more Canadian than Lankan. Either way it is lovely to see her doing so well. Thank you for featuring her on your channel ☺️❤️

I really like the fact that you DON'T push expensive skincare. That's why I like your channel. I don't have much money AT ALL (probably less than the average person has) to spend a month on skin care, but that doesn't mean that I don't want to take care of my skin and have a skin care routine. I'm like you. I prefer products that are priced affordably and that work. Thank you so much for offering options for people like me that don't have a fortune to spend on skin care products. I cannot believe how much this celebrity's skin care routine is! Crazy! Especially if you're getting products that aren't truly worth all that money. I feel like some who share their skin care routines, do it just because they want you to know that they are using a moisturizer ECT that was $200 dollars. The average person who is not a celebrity, doesn't have that kind of cash to hand over. I appreciate you being down to earth and relatable on sharing products that we can afford. It makes skin care feel like it's possible for everyone, instead of just people with money to achieve.

I'm not sure if it’s that they want people to know, or just that it’s not expensive for them. If you make $2,000 a month, $200 is 10% of your income, that’s a huge amount for normal people. If they make $20,000, that’s just 1% of their income, that’s like $20 dollars for normal people.

For years I have been visiting a well known dermatologist who is also a professor of Derm at UCLA and a research fellow. In fact, he is the person the FDA goes to first to test things like Niacinamide was run through him to determine it's effects on skin. He says the same thing as Cassandra! Do not be afraid of chemicals vs "all natural".

Yes we can. I'm almost 21 and had to go most of my life (and still have) with backne since I'm 11 and facial acne (never specificaly cistic, but it was too much). These ttpe of videos started getting more known around 5 years ago, but most knew about them in quarantine (3 years ago). Let's not act as if there were such a difference. And these videos help but mostly if you live in the US, Uk, Canada or Australia. Personaly I only get the info of ingredients but in my country (Argentina) the range of products is minimal and extra expensive. And usually we get stuff that people would buy somewhere else. For example, if in 1st world coutries people mostly use 1 product for their face but a different one for their body but only talk about the facial products then we only get mid facial products and terrible quality body skincare for an exagerated price. An average salary (coming from the internet) is around ars$70k white the La Roche Posay 1oz salicylic acid serum costs around ars$13k. An average 1.7oz/50ml spf costs around ars$5k. Calculate that percentualy with an average salary in your country. Ofcourse in the US people have waaay more options but if someone is around my age (almost 21) they'll tell you about how people would recommend toothpaste, using ice directly in the skin, diy masks with lemon, strawberries, coca-cola, sugar, banana, etc that would do nothing or ruin your skin. Would talk about that black peel-off mask that would make you cry and never about spf and that is suppose to be used on a daily and is suppose to be reapplied for it to work. I literaly didn't know about the spf part until I was 19 and most people start getting the worst sunburns younger and willingly. Ofcourse we found the help sooner, but it's not like we didn't struggle.

I had no idea who Maitreyi was, but looking at her name, I deduced that she was South Indian/Tamilian, so I looked her up, and turned out that she is Tamilian of Sri Lankan origin, and considers herself to be Tamilian-Canadian. As a Tamilian myself, it’s cool to see our community being represented by Padma Lakshmi and now her. Since she is Tamilian/Sri Lankan, I doubt she speaks Hindi, let alone Punjabi. Actually, Hindi isn’t a very popular language among South Indians. Even though it has been unofficially given the status of a national language, it isn’t officially so, and it’s quite a divisive topic among North and South Indians. That being said, I’m so impressed by your Punjabi! I’m no expert on vocabulary, but your accent is on point! We need a story time on how you learned the language. I remember in the Kate Moss video, you said you could convert to Indian rupees, so I need you to spill😂 Maitreyi’s routine is so expensive😮 P.S. I know you’re Ukrainian. I’ve been living in Ukraine for the past 8 years with my Ukrainian husband and son. Sending you hugs💙💛

OMG Cassandra how are you so fluent with Punjabi…we would like to know in one of your upcoming videos. I being an Indian can’t speak Punjabi. So kudos to you babe…your a live wire in all your videos. So in India as the state changes the languages change…in fact sometimes it differs in different parts of the same state with an interesting mix at the borders of the states too. Maitreyi does speak Tamil as her parents are Shri Lankan. Tamil is also spoken in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. The commonality is because sri lanka is a neighbouring country.

Hey so just an FYI as someone with incredibly mild Tuberous Sclerosis Complex it is NOT a skin condition, it is a very rare genetic disorder that can CAUSE skin conditions like Shagreen Patch, but it can also cause other skin conditions as well as benign abnormal skin growths or "tumors" to grow all over the body including the eyes, heart, lungs, and brain. It also causes dental issues, brain abnormalities like seizures (usually developed in your 20s), and even autism and other learning deficits have been linked to TSC. It also suppresses the immune system making us more susceptible to illness - we're not fully immunocompromised but we do have to be careful about catching illnesses because of how easy it is for us to get them. It can be inherited or idiopathic I guess is the right term?? Just in case anyone gets the wrong idea from this video about what TSC is if someone is either diagnosed with Shagreen Patch or suspecting they might have it specifically because of that one skin condition because I believe Shagreen Patch isn't always a definitive signifier of TSC because, as I've said, it's a Genetic Mutation Disorder and not just some skin issues that can arise out of it. (and not everyone with TSC even has skin rashes like I had Shagreen Patch once as a kid that was scraped off which is what made them suspect TSC but I haven't had it since but I DO have abnormal bone growths on my abdomen as well as probably other parts of my body so... yea).

Which acne line? Clear skin probiotic or Acne Advance? Not all forms of acne respond to their lines. Try the eight greens serum for hormonal acne, if you have multiple types try the image MD Restoring youth repair cream with basic cleanser and moisturizer. Just to put things in perspective, this lady is 20 years young... if one doesn't suffer from a skin medical condition at that age whatever you put on your skin, be it the best antiaging product or the biggest scam probably won't make any visible difference.

Honestly, we will see if these products work for her in 20 years. Currently this girl is incredibly young - and having a genetically very good skin. She doesn’t really need that many products, her skin hasn’t even start to age, and I personally think that if you don’t have issues with your skin that need special treatment, it’s not a good idea to get your skin used to cosmetics with active ingredients.
